Matteo's Mexican Food

We recently visited this restaurant, and while the food was tasty, the overall experience was marred by the poor cleanliness and maintenance of the place.

The tables were dirty when we sat down, and the booths were torn—so much so that my kids had to sit on my knees. It was really uncomfortable and made the whole dining experience less enjoyable.

To make matters worse, the horchata was served warm, which was disappointing since it's usually such a refreshing drink.

On a positive note, the food was good. We ordered a torta, two gorditas, and nachos, and everything tasted flavorful and fresh. It’s clear the kitchen has potential.

But overall, the restaurant really needs attention in terms of cleanliness and maintenance

Ordered a chicken gordita and a chicharron gordita and two pineapple drinks which they were bomb. Definitely coming back here with the fam!

I got the wrong order and tried calling to correct but no answer. I spent almost
$40 for two plates and it was all wrong.

We went during lunch and the cashier charged us full price for a plate that was on sale. Monday chicken flautas are on sale for lunch. And since we did not say we wanted the lunch special she charged us a full price e. It was our first time there and daily specials are not advertised in restuarants menu. I found about it by taking a me u to go. Specials are listed on that paper not on restuarant menu. Rip offs

Wife and I came in to try a new spot. The restaurant itself is super clean and employees are friendly. The food… a little lackluster. I got the carne asada fries and a chile Colorado burrito to go, my wife got the hatch green chicken enchiladas. The fries and carne asada were pretty bland and I had to put a lot of salt just to get it to where they should be. The hatch green chile chicken enchiladas weren’t it, the creamy sauce was kinda gooey and they forgot to even add the chicken… the rice had no flavor but the beans were good! The chile Colorado burrito was pretty decent but to add an extra $2.50 for beans and rice is a little crazy on an already $8 burrito. We also ordered the Blue Ocean and Horchata which were the best part of the meal. Very trendy but the food could use some work. Will definitely be back for the agua frescas though!

I was always a huge fan of Matteo’s. Since the beginning I was a fan. Yesterday I places an order for my husband, my son and myself. I was very disappointed. The chicken flautas were significantly smaller portioned than before. And they got everything on top. The guacamole is usually really creamy and yummy. Yesterday it was so gross. Noticed the color was different. But once I ate it, could taste primarily jalapeños. I’m not a fan of jalapeño and they’ve never blended it up with guacamole before. Yuck. Smaller portions and the food tasted different. Not sure I’ll be back again anytime soon. If they go back to their old ways I would!

Employees seem uninterested in working. I got the brisket Gordita, was dry af rice was water down no flavor whatsoever. The agua Fresca was water down. Overpriced Mexican food. Highly don’t recommend. 👎

My husband and I came for the first time and I was very impressed. The employees welcomed us when we came in. I ordered an aquas frescas and it was delicious and very refreshing. My husband ordered the green chili chicken enchiladas and they were very authentic, served with rice and beans. I had the chicken flautas also served with rice and beans. They were huge and stuffed with lots of chicken smothered in avocado crema and regular crema. I could barely finish them. I also ordered the “arroz con leche” it tasted like home like my mom or abuelita would make. We are definitely going back. Lots of options on the menu. The wait staff were friendly, the place was clean and the food was amazing.

My wife and I tried Matteo's for the 1st time after seeing the ad at the movies next door. Warm greeting as we walked in the door, courteous friendly service with a smile as we ordered and our food was delivered to our table in a timely manner. It was love at 1st bite ! My wife is an unbelievable cook and my enchiladas were like home cooking, even she said so ! She loved her aguas fresca and we both agreed we'll definitely be coming back soon.

I ordered the chicken flautas and they were the best I’ve ever tasted anywhere!

Placed an order through Uber eats, driver waited for 40 minutes, he texted me and let me know they were short staffed, I just cancelled, won’t be ordering from here
