Full disclosure. I've never been through El Paso. I've been told time and time again by some buddies that I was missing out, if for nothing else but some of the most authentic Mexican food you'll find outside of Mexico itself.
I decided to let Jesus take the wheel and picked Midtown Spirits on a complete and total whim. The sun was setting and the sign on the door prohibiting gangs, colors, and other associated nonsense gave me a brief moment of pause, but not enough to keep me from going through the door.
Man, am I so glad I did. This place was staffed by, what I would offer, younger people as compared to my 51 years. And they were awesome. Polite, engaging, and excited to tell the story of their business and offer recommendations. 14 days and 6000 miles of motorcycle riding and Midtown Spirits is undoubtedly one of the highlights of my trip. I'd recommend the business, their staff, and their killer music selection to anyone without reservation.
The music reminded me of a younger time where all I wanted to do is run out and buy a set of JNCO pants. Totally my aesthetic.

The menu is one page front and back but you have to visit it to try the food. The have rolled flautas in a red or green sauce that you must try. If you like Chicos you'll definitely love these and instead of listening to a jukebox that they never change the CDs to you can watch a channel that's playing classic music videos. They also have burgers, fried pickles, Ben's tacos, etc. So if you've visited Segundo Barrio or the second ward neighborhood its the small area where Cotton and Delta intersect. This neighborhood has lots of history and that's where I first tried Ben's tacos 🌮. There's nothing to it our relatives made them at home for us as kids and you can too, but I'm not give you the recipe 😀. You're just going to have to try them. The beer on tap is not super cold but will suffice that's just me, I've seen at alot of bars during our Hot as the Devil Summers we have.

Great place to unwind. They have an outdoor patio. The food and drinks are reasonably priced. Wonderful staff.

I don't recommend the wings 🤮 or the red beer. Maybe the food in general. The margaritas were super good though. Service was not the best.

Absolutely amazing experience at Midtown Spirits! The service from Tony and Randy was top-notch—friendly, attentive, and quick. We ordered the Huevos Rancheros and the Buffalo Chicken Salad, and both were incredibly flavorful and fresh. The Huevos Rancheros had the perfect balance of spice and richness, and the salad was hearty with just the right kick. Paired it with a cold beer and a smooth cup of coffee—both hit the spot. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food and a welcoming atmosphere! Highly recommend and we'll definitely be back

It’s always spooky in here, but their food is what I keep coming back for. Amazing rolled tacos (better than chicos) and they have excellent wings as well. I don’t think I’ve ver ordered a dish I haven’t liked. There’s plenty of parking and they also have a patio.

The bar/restaurant was a cozy atmosphere. Decorated for Halloween it is a fun place. Service was very good, prompt and friendly. The reason for 4 stars for food was the blt. On a sub roll it wasn't great. However, my friend had a rolled taco that was excellent. I would definitely go again.

Midtown spirits is a great neighborhood bar, only had their food once but was really good. Good environment and atmosphere. Drinks are great and one great thing is they provide you with lots of water when you ask. Very helpful and the Halloween party is very fun. Will definitely visit again.
