Absolutely abysmal service. Served by short, impatient staff and an older lady who I can only assume was in management.Expect:-Daft Host who will spend less time communicating any understanding to your party or its needs and more time assuming for you.-An added 20% charge labeled (service charge). It’s a non negotiable tip that they write in! Do they tell you they will do this? No!-Three menus and a sushi roll order slip they don’t explain and get frustrated over when you don’t understand-Food is good if you haven’t had Japanese cuisine. If you have? It’s subpar at best

Similar to a review from 2 months ago, we went in at 8:00 thinking we had plenty of time to order and time to spare. At first we were served fast, we enjoyed the atmosphere. The Asian lady is really nice and adorable, she was playing with my son and talking to him. Where it all went wrong was when we ordered another roll at 8:50, and a girl server came up to us and said "after this roll that's it because we're closed". We asked her if they close at 9? And she rudely said "yes" which once we left at 9:16, we noticed they actually closed at 9:30. I totally get that it was close to closing time, but it would've been nice to know at a certain time that we had very little time to place more orders, because we would've ordered everything we wanted to finish off the night. Instead, we felt rushed and unwelcomed especially once we placed the order for the roll and the chef cooking was yelling and getting angry.Overall this is by far the best sushi in town, but I guess go with time if not it feels like you're being rushed and kicked out. Also they don't have high chairs or anything for babies, my son was just standing on one of the chairs.

Was really hyped up to eating again at this restaurant and it was a total disappointment. Arrived at this place for early dinner around 530 or 6 pm with only 3 other tables being occupied. We were sat down by an older lady and waited from there on...finally ordered about half an hour of being sat down. We ordered the chicken teriyaki, tonkatsu, and the shrimp tempura...along with some gyoza and a roll as appetizers. More people began to show up and it seemed that they only had 2 waitresses and everything was delayed because of the place being full. When we did get the food we were missing my wifes shrimp tempura (that was taken to another table) and my daughter's chicken teriyaki tasted like it was day old or reheated (horrible taste). Horrible horrible experience only to get a we're sorry...sorry to say it will probably be the last time we eat here...another good place (or I thought really was) down the drain.

Riyoma Japanese Restaurant offers a captivating first impression with its exquisite atmosphere. Stepping inside, one is whisked away to a serene haven, adorned with tasteful decor and a calming ambiance. The attentive and pleasant server further amplified the positive experience, ensuring guests feel well-catered to throughout their visit. While the culinary journey at Riyoma doesn't reach the same heights as the atmosphere, it remains a solid and enjoyable experience. The sushi and food, while adhering to classic Japanese flavors, didn't venture into particularly innovative territory. While this might not appeal to those seeking adventurous palates, it provides a comfortable and familiar dining experience for those who appreciate traditional Japanese fare.Ultimately, Riyoma is a restaurant that excels in creating a truly delightful and welcoming atmosphere. If you're seeking a charming ambiance and friendly service paired with good, but not groundbreaking, Japanese cuisine, then Riyoma is certainly worth a visit.

Fresh and delicious sushi but the waitress Monica is rude and abrupt. She should work at a DMV office or tire shop.

Delightful restaurant with fresh sushi and proper Japanese cuisine. We tried their Koroke, and it was crunchy on the outside and soft-yummy in the inside. Then we got sushi pieces. All of them tasted fresh and flavorful. We quickly took over $100 for two with tip. There are cheaper options in the menu. The only down is the decor. It's run by more seasoned staff who are friendlyand prompt. A very good option for El Paso tasty sushi.

Best sushi in El Paso! Very friendly people, they know me by name! Been coming here for years and it’s my go to sushi spot. Noodle dishes are excellent too. Reasonably priced as well. Can’t go wrong ?

We arrived at this restaurant through some good recommendations of close friends, as soon as we arrived the nice Asian Lady who we thought was our server welcomed us and sat us at our table. We were wrong because our actual server (Monica) was very rude, I don’t really complain about this sort of things but it was a birthday dinner my friend arranged for me and so it was kinda special , Monica was rushing us , cutting us off whenever we asked a simple question, we really didn’t feel very welcomed I guess she was a bit bothered because they were closing soon (it was 8:20)and they close at 9:30. We still had a little bit over an hour ?. We would thank her and she would just walk away, she also told us that kitchen was closing soon so we needed to hurry up and order if we wanted to eat.

The Sushi here is consistently delicious. I’ve been back in El Paso for three years now and have found this to be my favorite quality sushi spot. The staff and owner are always very friendly. I usually order their 12 piece chef’s choice sushi plate, the Riyoma roll and another roll for two. They always give us Miso soup while we wait on our food.Kid-friendliness: I’ve taken my young nieces for lunch and they are a big fun of the bento boxes.
