Love Thai food, and this place does not disappoint! My server recommended tom yum with chicken extra spicy, loved it!! I’d love to specially mention that Isaac gave amazing service and is super knowledgeable, thanks for being so patient with me and answering all my questions!

Pad thi curry was tasty with right heat. Sticky rice was dry and overcooked but was replaced with a better one.

Great experience once again! Very attentive and charismatic staff. The food was great, my favorite was the Thai fried rice, it had a unique flavor and was delicious. We ordered everything to share which made it 10 times better.
Try this place if you haven't yet! A little pricier then some places in El Paso, but we'll worth it for the quality of food. Loved everything we've tried there, but stand out items are the Pad Thai, pumpkin curry, and steamed dumplings. The staff is friendly even doing the dinner rush.

1st visit (Sep 2025): it’s largely occupied and we waited 50+ mins to get our dishes.
2nd visit (Oct 2025): this time the experience was so much better. We went on Tuesday and I guess there’s no table waiting before us, so we got the dishes in a reasonable time. Thai street-style basil chicken is still my favorite. Besides, our server this time was also nice and helpful.

Last time we came my wife got a fly on the soup. Yes a fly. They just brought a new soup.
That was last year, we decided never come again. Today some of my friends asked food from here, I accepted. We called to picked up, but Pamela was so rude when speaking, I picked the food and same attitude, very unpleasant service.

⭐️ 1 Star — Disappointing Experience, Especially for Families
We placed a to-go order ahead of time so our young kids could eat right at dinnertime. When we arrived, not only was our food not ready, but we were told it hadn’t even been started — despite calling ahead.
Since our kids were getting hungry and there were multiple open tables, we asked if we could just sit and eat our food there. What happened next was truly appalling: we were told that because we ordered takeout, we were not allowed to dine in — a policy that makes no sense for paying customers.
Even worse, they said that if we chose to stay, our order would be pushed to the back of the line, which is an odd punishment for trying to dine in instead of taking it to go.
The staff was rude and completely unwilling to accommodate a family with small children. No effort to help, no apology — just a bizarre, inflexible policy and poor attitude.
We left without our food and will never return.
Avoid this place — especially if you have kids or expect to be treated with even basic respect as a customer.
Such a shame that they are the only Thai restaurant on the west side of town

Ok food at a high price.
FYI: they charge Double if you get a drink without ice.
I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Restaurant Review – Tara Thai
Date of Visit: July 14, 2025
Time: 11:30 AM
I’ve been coming to Tara Thai for some time, and while I’ve had good experiences in the past, this place has become very hit or miss. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was a major disappointment.
I had a lunch meeting scheduled, and we arrived at 11:30 AM — right before the peak lunch rush. Despite this, there were noticeable delays across the entire restaurant. As more people arrived, no food was coming out. Guests had to ask for their meals to-go because their lunch breaks were ending, and several people even canceled their orders and walked out.
In our case, we didn’t receive our food until close to 2:00 PM — that’s over two hours of waiting, which is absolutely unacceptable, especially during a lunch service.
Tara Thai, I sincerely hope you address the long wait times and the lack of consistency in your service. When it’s good, it’s really good — but unfortunately, the inconsistency is becoming too frequent to ignore.
Thank you,
A loyal customer
