Not the old tasty sausages from the 1960s but okay. Brisket was alittle dry but okay.

Place was nice inside. Had to wait a while to get my order taken as only one person was actually working the register even though there were two others standing nearby. Topping bar was also cleaned out and not maintained unfortunately. Food quality was good for the price, but still a little on the high side for what you get. Overall not a bad experience and would likely visit again.

I had the loaded baked potato with brisket. They give you the potato and all the toppings are on a little salad bar like thing and you can put them on yourself. I liked the fact that when I was getting to the bottom of my potato I could go back to the bar and get more cheese and sour cream.
Parking: I was pulling a stock trailer and there was enough room for me to park without obstructing other drivers.

I would recommend going to Southside market not far down the road. The brisket was a little dry for me compared to what I find at Southside, besides that, I would say the $20 plate with sides was worth it. The staff are very sweet and you get serviced with a genuine smile.

This place is a rip off. The price they charge for the food you get on your plate is ridiculous. Never again. McDonalds kid meals give you more food than their plates.
Great BBQ with lots of varieties of meats and sides. Lots of seating available as well.

In town again for Hogeye festival, tried Southside Market last year and had to try Meyers this year. I got the 3 meat plate with brisket, ribs and sausage, potato salad and beans. Not a big sausage guy, but Meyer’s sausage was excellent and a big edge over Southside. Service was fast and friendly, prices are on point, restaurant is very clean and spacious. Ribs were great, not fall off the bone, but a good bite and not too tough. Brisket was just okay to me. Tried 2 of 3 sauces, original and honey mesquite which I preferred as it was very good with a mild sweetness. Potato salad is very good and beans even had a nice flavor over your typical pinto beans. Grabbed dessert to go with a slice of pecan and slice of buttermilk pie, tried the buttermilk and it was good. Definitely a must try if you’re in Elgin. You can’t go wrong with either restaurant, but if you want great sausage, Meyers is the better choice.

Everyone has their own idea of the perfect barbecue place, and mine is in Driftwood, Texas, with huge open pits, the option of outdoor seating under live oaks, friendly wait staff, and a rustic atmosphere. Meyer’s does not fall into those categories. You stand in line, read the menu from the board or card, and tell the person behind the register your order, which is delivered to your table a bit later. You get your own plastic knives and forks. The dining room lacks much character, though the wooden ceiling does add some warmth.
The food, however, was delicious. I got a sandwich that had brisket, beef sausage, and grilled onions, as well as a side order of Mexican cream corn. My friend got a pulled pork sandwich. We were both happy with our food.
If you like beer with your BBQ, your options are limited. I asked the woman taking my order what beers they had, and she said, “I don’t know; they are in the cooler over there.” The cooler was behind the counter and had a glass door, so all I could see were Coors Light and Bud Light. There were a couple of others but you get the drift.
There is a wonderful mural just inside the door. That and the food are worth coming for.
But it ain’t the one in Driftwood.

Turkey and pulled pork were amazing. The sauces are delicious! Sides of mac and cheese and Mexican corn were also good just lacked a bit of salt. Very clean restaurant. Thank you!

Great food, easy to find, lots of space, friendly staff, all the goodies. Staff listens to their customers, especially dietary restrictions. Each employee knows their menu by heart and were happy to provide all requests we needed. Would recommend anyone wanting authentic smoked brisket or sausage.
Dietary restrictions: Willing to accommodate any need.

Always great! The original Elgin sausage. Have been coming here since my grandpa used to bring us. Nothing like sausage and crackers on brown paper.
