Friendly service but terrible food.
By far the worst donut/kolache place I’ve been to from here to Galveston. Small towns in Arkansas and Oklahoma had better donuts and kolaches than this. Whatever this Apple thing is in the photo is so dry and flaky and hardly has any apple in it. The cream cheese kolache was dry and bland and barely had any filling. It seems very overpriced for how low quality the food is. I recommend the owners go to a mornings kolaches place to see how kolaches are really done ESPECIALLY a cream cheese kolache! Also if you’re going to charge the prices you charge use something other than a hotdog in a kolache with hardly any cheese… Elgin is supposed to be the sausage capitol of Texas and thus should have good quality sausage not hotdogs and cheap pan sausage patties that look like cafeteria food. Not sure how long this place has been around since I just moved to Elgin a couple months ago, but it appears to me that it only stays open due to it being the only donut shop in town. Usually small towns have decent donuts/coffee shops but this has got to be the worst. I try not to leave bad reviews, but have been here three times and every single time have been disappointed, come on Elgin. Let’s do better!
Looks like I’ll be driving into manor for now on.

Been going here for over 20 years since I was a kiddo. Staff is always super friendly and kind. Best donuts in the world! And their breakfast croissants are delicious 😋
Best donuts of anywhere I've ever been to in my entire life of 50 years I've never had donuts as amazing as these!!!!

BEWARE: I went to pay for my items and it didn’t add up correctly. I asked about it when looking at the receipt and there was an extra charge for “differential pay.” I asked her to explain what that charge was for and she said it was early in the morning. She re-wrung without the charge. I was paying with cash so it shouldn’t have been the credit card fees most restaurants add now. I think they were trying to charge me more for using cash. Or it was just a scam. Check your receipts!

I had been wanting to try out this place for a while! Finally remembered to go when they were open. I bought a few things for me and my husband to try. I got their jalapeño kolaches, meat and cheese kolaches, donut with maple glaze on it, donut with pink icing and Cap'n Crunch cereal on it, and a cream filled donut with chocolate icing. The kolaches were so good! I particularly liked the jalapeño ones. Definitely getting those again. I also really liked the donut with pink icing and Cap'n Crunch cereal. It reminded me of the one that Voodoo Doughnut’s makes with Cap'n Crunch cereal but, this one tasted better to me. My husband also liked the one that was cream filled with chocolate icing. He said it reminded him of Voodoo Doughnut’s Portland Cream doughnut. Overall, very impressed and will be returning! The staff member who helped me was also very kind and patient when I was thinking over what I wanted to try. I opted for takeaway this time around but, there’s also a good amount of seating inside if you wanted to eat there.

My first time there and I was very pleased. I got an apple fritter for me and mixed dozen of donuts for my office crew and they didn't last long when I returned! The gentleman behind the counter was very nice.

Super friendly and great food!
Quick, friendly and delicious! My aughter and I try and stop in before school every morning.
This has to be the worst donut shop I have gone to. I sent my husband in to grab donuts for me and the kids for him to bring a bag with donuts as thin as paper and the size of a mini donut. I was shocked when I seen them. I don’t recommend anyone to come here, the donut shop in bastrop is much better with actual “donuts”!!!!
The Kalachi and the Tacos were very dried.
Did not enjoy my food!!
Next time I'm just going to the donut shop in Smithville, it's worth the drive.
Amazing people, Amazing kolaches and donuts, drive from Houston TX to see my customers and provide them Elgin donuts.
