I visit Azteca de Oro at least once a week. They are top rated by the Elgin Courier for best overall restaurant and best breakfast.

I looked this place up to see what the actual name was and all i found was pictures of people's plates! some were half-eaten but they still rated highly enough that people wanted to share pics! Hearty home cooking that is filling and delicious. No trip to Austin area would be complete without a side trip to this restaurant. I'm not sure how fast food joints can stay in business with food like this nearby. You can tell by the wonderful flavors that it is made with love and the pictures don't lie, their meals are wonderful! Prepare to have a new favorite place. Being surrounded by very good Mexican food places, this place stands out as a cut above!

We have lived in Elgin for 8 years and just heard of this place today. We decided to try it for dinner. Small place, not fancy, and easily missed unless you are looking for it but OH THE FOOD!! The absolute best authentic mexican food i have eaten at a restaurant hands down. I appreciate having amazing food for what we would have paid at a fast food place. Hot and fresh, delicious and affordable Highly recommended
