Ordered 2 meals. One meal the sides were included on the second meal they charged me for the sides. I didn't notice till we left.

I have ate here two other times and today the food was AWFUL!!! Mrs. Linda was not there today 10/19/24!

We ordered Meatloaf, Mac n Cheese, and Sweet Potatoes and there was literally a can of diced tomatoes on top of these unseasoned ground beef slices. Completely Tasteless! The sweet potatoes were unseasoned as well.

We also ordered fried chicken, collard greens, and sweet potatoes. The chicken was not seasoned. Also I asked for two wings and a breast and got three wings that were not fried hard and had that black stuff in it.

I usually enjoy the food here, but I am not sure if it is new cooks and staff but when we enter to order our food, we had to scream to get some assistance because everyone was in the back. Usually Miss Linda is there and her customer service is top-tier but today, the service and the food was absolutely awful !!!!

Also a sewer line or something must have burst because when you walk into the restaurant, it does not smell well at all.

I've been meaning to try this place but 2 previous delivery orders through GrubHub were cancelled due to system issues. Decided just to go directly to the restaurant today.

I called the phone number via Google and I reached Linda directly, who was not at the restaurant. She gave me the number of Chef Jeff, who didn't pick up but I figured he could've been busy in the kitchen. So because it said online they were open on Sunday, I still went to the restaurant. The restaurant was closed when we pulled up with no note or sign showing updated business hours. Linda didn't tell me the restaurant would be closed today.

I wish Linda the best.

My my my. This is truly an intimatr hidden gem that serves excellent pipping hot soul food.
Everything from the food to the jazz music being played was excellent. They even have Dominoes and spades available for play
The prices are reasonable, food is cooked to order and seasoned very well. Reminds me of old skool down south cooking.
Chef Jeff was amazing and very helpful from the time we walked in to us leaving.
Pictures were taken half-way through me eating, so it definitely wasn't served the way it looks. The food is amazing.

I had greens, mac n cheese, yams, cornbread and smothered porkchops.

We will definitely be back.

This place was amazing, the food is definitely authentic Soul Food. Seasoned to a T. The serving sizes were great. I felt like I was back home again. And the Service was just as great. First time and I'm hooked.

The place was definitely hyped up more than it actually was.
These "great reviews" have to be lies from ppl that know the Ms. Linda lady.
Yams tasted like they were fresh from a can.
No cornbread.
No to go plates available.
Had to wait for another party to bring to go containers.
Weak containers.
Food seeped through containers.
Our food was $40.00.
The lies and deceit.
At this point, I'm convinced this place is a sceem for a scam.
The chef was really the only employee.
He was cool, though.

We're visiting from St.Louis.I called prior to our arrival to the place of business. Linda answered and said she wasn't at the establishment because she's out to lunch. (THAT SHOULD'VE BEEN MY FIRST RED FLAG).
She sounded like a nice lady. Whilst reading the other reviews we were excited to endulge..
We arrived and was greeted by a friendly young man. (The chef). (Flag #2).
We ordered. As we received our order the young man tells the family behind us they're out of containers and they'd have to wait until someone brought them seeing as he was the only employee present. My husband had to ask for hotsauce and eating utensils. We tipped the chef $5.00.As soon as I sat in the car and realized I didn't have any corn bread by looking in the bag. The macaroni seeped through the Styrofoam bowl. I took it in and asked him to change the bowl and request my piece of cornbread. He replied they're out of cornbread. Lastly, I tasted the food, let's just say it's nothing to write home about. My husband ordered the catfish, mashedpotatoes and rice. He said the potatoes were dry and the rice waa overcooked, and bland. I only ordered sides and kool-aid.
I'm glad aboutthat. Our order was close to $40.00.
He was nice and trying to hold down the fort. It would've been improper to ask for a refund, besides he was the only person working and others were waiting for his assistance. So rather than be apart of the problem we left.
Would Not visit again.

Mrs. Linda Soul Food was a nice find in the Hurst area for me. I was looking for a location with good greens (for my chow chow - if you know about chow chow, you understand) and fried catfish. Mrs. Linda did not disappoint.

The food was good and the portions were enough for two meals. I definitely recommend Mrs. Linda, for takeout soul food.

Parking: The location is in a strip with plenty of parking.
