Ponte's Diner Reviews
I’ve been broke down in the truck lot next to this place for a couple days now and I’ve eaten there 4 times. The food is extraordinary and the staff are amazing and attentive as can be. Best thing I’ve had is the Hawaiian burger. Oh let’s not forget the portions are big so if you leave hungry it’s ya own fault!!!
Awesome food and service!
For a Tex Mex/ American 50s style diner it couldn't have been more perfect! Our food was delicious! Our waitress, name Alice! PUHlease, please tell me the cooks name is Mel!
Driver's, plenty of parking and the best sit down meal you will have out on the road half way between Houston and Dallas! One exit south of the Loves and Peach Ice cream. Take the exit, have a burger or a fajita steak quesadilla! Ask for Alice!

Ponte's Diner offers classic American comfort food in a friendly and welcoming environment. The restaurant is kept clean and provides efficient service. Recommended dishes include the hamburger steak with grilled onion and gravy, fried okra, mashed potatoes, and French fries. The hand-battered chicken fried steak remains a popular choice, and the peach cobbler continues to be a highlight. Customers enjoy the good atmosphere and professional servers, with some noting that the onion rings are particularly excellent—possibly the best they have ever had. The diner has a strong local following, with many visitors returning often. The ambiance reflects a 1950s/'60s dinner vibe, adding to its charm. The food makes diners smile, with great bread for sandwiches like the BLT, which is lightly toasted and delicious. The menu also includes enchiladas, tacos, and quesadillas, with smaller portions available upon request, catering to different appetites. Service is always attentive yet friendly, and recent upgrades like renovated toilets improve the overall experience. The staff, including friendly servers, contribute to a positive atmosphere. Ponte's Diner is a good stop for road trips, especially between Houston and Fort Worth, known for fantastic food, great portions at reasonable prices, and a cozy, nostalgic environment.
