I called ahead of time and asked if what I ordered was actual catfish or was it sway catfish, they said confidently that it was actual catfish, I get my order and it’s sway… I’m pissed honestly

Oh My Gosh Y'all!!! I'm not kidding, this is THE BEST HOME COOKED FOOD i have ever experienced in a commercial atmosphere!!! The buffet, and I don't normally like buffets, was SUPERB!!! Chicken fried steak that you can cut with a fork, fried chicken, smothered sirloin steak, bbq brisket & sausage, chicken & dumplings, mashed potatoes, broccoli rice casserole, butter beans, PLUS many more, along with a salad bar and dessert bar!!! Banana pudding, REAL BANANA Pudding, Bread pudding, peach cobbler, fresh hot bread & cornbread!!! I felt like I was at a Thanksgiving Meal!!! DELICIOUS!!! FRESH!!! CLEAN!!! FRIENDLY!!!!

We drove 1hr 20min to this restaurant based on the comments of a friend that lives in Mexia. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME!!!! The food was just okay. Nothing special to write home about. If you’re driving from Waco through Mexia to Franklin, don’t go all the way to Franklin to go to Sam’s. You will be sorely disappointed. Just stop at the Farm House in Mexia. Now that place has EXCELLENT FOOD!!! Sam’s is sorely lacking. It may have been good years ago and still running off its reputation. The food was just average. Although, I do have to say I did really like the fresh bread that was brought to the table and the salad bar. The salad bar had a decent amount of different selections, not all of it fresh, but enough to make a really nice fresh salad. I also like the potato soup. A very nice can selection. The rest was just average or below average. The greens were a disgusting can selection of greens. That should be removed from the buffet. Also the desserts were atrocious!!! Anyway, if you live in Franklin you may have no other choice. If you don’t live there, don’t drive there for this restaurant. Very disappointing.

I had dinner at Sam's Restaurant in Fairfield, Texas, today and was very fortunate to have had the sweetest, courteous, friendliest and knowledgeable waitress by the name of Alana. Her presence was warm and delightful. We met her mother and sister that are also employed there, Ariana and Cas, and they too were as sweet and courteous as Alana. I will be returning there as it is a wonderful place to eat and the food is delicious.

Really good breakfast buffet. Lunch is also great, with a really good CFS, fresh yeasty bread and fresh salad options including spinach. They have recently added a full bar, plus electric car charging stations! Senior discounts, too.

$20.00 Great buffet, the staff are super friendly. Big truck parking. It's the only place between Dallas and Houston that's worth stopping. The food is always fresh and hot, excellent selection.
