They don’t pay their employees after they have them work without a set schedule and supervisors believe they have the right to yell at employees for no reason .

The food was great, but the portions could have been bigger. Also, the drinks could be a bit larger, too. But overall, everything was delicious.

Parking: Very nice atmosphere and the outdoor seating is beautiful.

Not only is the location perfect and adorable and decorative, Jalea our sever was so upbeat and welcoming and kind. She had such excellent knowledge of her entire menu and even told us they’re a dual concept with barrel and bones so we had two menus and happy hour drinks to choose from. I would honestly say this place was top tier and the service and food were 10/10. Highly recommend and ask for Jalea!

We had dinner with our family. Everyone had something different and seemed to enjoy the food. I had the asado brisket enchiladas. The serving was large and hot but I did not care for the asado sauce. It had a strange and bitter flavor. The enchiladas would have been great with chili or a cheese sauce.
As with almost all restaurants the background music was too loud, making conversation difficult.

I wanted to wait until I’d visited a few times before leaving an honest review. I love this place! This is now my brunch spot on Sundays after a long week at work. The atmosphere is everything, the service is great, the manager is cool as hell, & the kitchen always knocks it out the park.

The first time, I brought my mom and aunt we were out on the patio.. the view is amazing! I love that they have games out there too like Jenga, Connect Four etc. The lake adds value like no other. Just gorgeous all around.

The second time, I brought my friends and we stayed inside due to rainy weather but that didn’t stop the fun! Experience was top notch. We enjoyed our drinks by the fabulous bartender Taylor, the mariachi band kept the party going, and the other patrons were a vibe. I loved that they celebrated Dia De Muertos. A beautiful celebration.
It felt like you were invited to a cookout at your friends house and everyone’s family was there just having a great time.

This is now my spot ?? I’ll be back!

Brunch at Black Agave was a fantastic experience! The food was spot on, and I have to say, the red salsa was a standout—I couldn't get enough of it and even added it to my fish tacos. The patio overlooking the lake made for a relaxing setting, and the spacious interior had a great vibe, perfect for larger groups too. The service was top-notch; our waiter was attentive, and the manager checked in to ensure everything was just right. I'll definitely be back—this place is ideal for a laid-back Saturday or Sunday brunch with friends or family!

Anthony was top tier! He was such a joy and made our first time experience here enjoyable. He was very personal personalable and attentive, he also gave us great menu recommendations which did not disappoint. I will happily drive an hour again just for Anthony and his great customer service. Dev and Vonté were also great ensuring we were had our needs met in the interim.

Review based on one dinner here.

Arrived at about 5 pm on a Sunday. Restaurant was almost empty. Maybe not a good sign. Newer restaurant with a back patio.

I did not particularly enjoy my chile relleno. It looked visually appealing but the sauce on the plate had a sour, vinegar flavor that I didn’t like. Had an issue with my son’s meal but to management’s credit they made it right by making him a new dish.

A group and I dined on Friday since they advertised mariachis and margaritas. We were seated outside by the TV and a mist fan. We requested to be inside but since our party was 4 adults and 2 kids and a baby, we had to be sat outside. We also requested a baby carrier sling to place oir 3 month old but was informed they don't have one but they have a high chair to place the baby in? So instead we had to put the baby carrier in a chair. We also asked the person who sat us if the mariachis would come outside and she said they would come in and out periodically. Our server's name was DeVonte G. I asked him if he could turn off the mist that was blowing from the fan, since it was blowing directly on the chair i would be sitting in. He said he could ask, and then left. I remained standing, waiting. Then later he came back asking for our drink orders but he didn't indicate an answer about the mist from the fan. I asked him and with a snappy attitude DeVonte said, "he would come." Not sure who "he" is? And then DeVonte left. Later he came back with our drinks and still the mist was on and no mariachis have came out either. Then after DeVonte gave us our drinks, he yanked one of the power cords out of the wall and left quickly. He did not tell us it was the cord to turn off the mist, we just looked and saw the mist stopped blowing. Then I sat down and we waited for DeVonte to come back to take our food order. He came back, took our order, and we asked him when the mariachis would come outside. He said they had one more song, then will come outside. We waited and nothing. DeVonte then came out with our food and we requested some sautéed onions and then he left. Some time later, a different gentleman came out with the onions and we asked him about the mariachis coming outside and told him what DeVonte told us (which we later found out was a lie). The gentleman apologized and informed us the mariachis already come out and were going to just stay inside playing and that they were trying to leave early. But the gentleman informed them that they would not be paid unless they stayed the whole time and also this is not their normal mariachi band they previously use. Eventually the mariachis came out, played 2 songs and left back inside. Later, DeVonte came back out and started taking away our empty plates and we asked for our checks and left. I've dined in Black Agave three previous times and the service has always been wonderful as well as this food. Unfortunately, this time was very disappointing and let down due to DeVonte.

This establishment has a nice menu and even shares the menu of it sister restaurant next door. "Whiskeys...?"
I ordered Chicken and waffles. Don't order it.
It was 3 chicken strips and 4 mini packages waffles. They were reheated on the grill but not freshly made.
