I don’t know the rest but I had a sausage on bread and had a terrible experience with aftertaste and a mouth that feels like it’s stripped between that and the sweet tea with a bad aftertaste, I don’t know unless you would like to have stomach ulcers tooBad experience for me, it was very soggy also

Discovered Joel’s on the way to Houston. Lean brisket sandwich was tasty and my wife enjoyed the sausage wrap. We timed our return trip to have lunch there again and bought brisket and sausage to take home to share with the rest of our family. Definitely worth your business as Joel knows how to cook BBQ.

Delicious!

Old school Texans joint serves excellent food, as well as homemade pecan pie. Cost a bit more , but the quality and speedy service as well as the authentic Texas taste it's worth it. Next to a liquor store a drink, and a sliced beef sandwich, crown Royal went down excellent ??. Ideally a place for old folks. Although if your down for a Texas original it's worth a stop coming through Flatonia, Texas.Parking: Easy. Lovely and quick.Kid-friendliness: They love it. Old Texan look is necessary for the kids to enjoy quality Texan dishes made by people who care.

Must have lunch on the big beautiful rustic picnic table on the patio. It's very comfortable on a cool spring day in March. Inside dining is also available with large clean bathrooms. I highly recommend it for atmosphere and food was also very good of course. I had a regular size brisket sandwich that was very meaty, a sausage wrap and beans for about $10-12. Great place to watch the world go by in Old Town.

Go to Joel's about once a week always get the Texas size chopped beef with onions and pickle. Sometimes get the beans and potatoes salad. . Been eating there since April of 2023. Never a problem with food or service.

Brisket was dry (had decent flavor) the ribs were bland with very little flavor the sausage was completely flavorless the beans didn’t have any good flavor at all mostly just chili powder they only offer 3 different sides and chips I didn’t mind the sauce but my mother didn’t like it because it was a tangy bbq sauce which did lack flavor there as well…. For being in business 48 years you would think they had good food but they must have lost the recipe some where along that line I will not be stopping back in there again.

We have stopped here before on trips from the Houston area to San Antonio and the food was good. This time we ordered 2 sliced brisket sandwiches. It took over 15 minutes and there were only about 5 customers ahead of us.We got our order to go and started eating a couple minutes after getting back on the freeway or I would have returned the meal for a refund. The sauce had soaked thru the bread creating a gooey mess. The brisket was some of the WORST I have ever eaten. It was so chewy and tough that we had to just pull slices out and try to chew them. No way you could take a bite and enjoy. Giving one star for the gooey and tough sandwich. They were all out of ribs and turkey and it was noon.In the future they should go back to buns instead of cheap bread and get some quality control on the meat. The place is a charming looking restaurant but the employees have a complete lack of personality. Zero.Vegetarian options: None. This is a meat serving establishment.Parking: Just an open lot. Room for some commercial trucks and cars. We were in a pickup and towing a trailer.Wheelchair accessibility: None. Don’t even think about it.

Horrible Bbq, don't know how this place gets good reviews or business. Loaded baked potato was absolutely pathetic, dry brisket, American cheese singles ripped up to look like melted cheese, absolutely rock hard potato. Fed it to my dogs. My lady had a sandwich and it was equally bad. Dry, tough, bland....wish we had kept driving hungry and waited for something better down the road. Hell, Dickey's has better BBQ, and that place is the McDonald's of BBQ.

Food greatly overrated.sliced beef had no bark, sauce was decent. Price (24.99#) is outrageous. Bread was extra.
