Old school Texans joint serves excellent food, as well as homemade pecan pie. Cost a bit more , but the quality and speedy service as well as the authentic Texas taste it's worth it. Next to a liquor store a drink, and a sliced beef sandwich, crown Royal went down excellent ??. Ideally a place for old folks. Must have lunch on the big beautiful rustic picnic table on the patio. It's very comfortable on a cool spring day in March. Inside dining is also available with large clean bathrooms. I highly recommend it for atmosphere and food was also very good of course. I had a regular size brisket sandwich that was very meaty, a sausage wrap and beans for about $10-12. Great place to watch the world go by in Old Town.

Discovered Joel’s on the way to Houston. Lean brisket sandwich was tasty and my wife enjoyed the sausage wrap. We timed our return trip to have lunch there again and bought brisket and sausage to take home to share with the rest of our family. Definitely worth your business as Joel knows how to cook BBQ.
