I asked for a plain strawberry cream cheese bagel and paid five dollars and two cents then they gave me the most delicious and heavenly item to ever enter my mouth.

Finally, a bagel shop in Texas that truly gets it! These bagels are the real deal—crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, just like the ones we love and miss in NYC. Every week, I make a pilgrimage to this little slice of bagel heaven to grab a dozen for my family (and let’s be real, a few extras for me). Just go; you won’t be disappointed.

***UPDATE - was just in a couple days ago, November 2024, and there is signage posted starting Jan 01 2025 they will be cash only. Not a bad thing but something to be aware of***
Have lived in town for a couple years now and just made my way over this morning. Wanted something different (and prefer to support small biz when possible). I walked in and looked at the menu, Ann Marie behind the counter was super helpful in describing all the items. I would up with a salt bagel and veggie cream cheese that was absolutely amazing and very reasonable priced. I am already planning my next visit to this place and cant wait to try other items. FYI there was a sign inside that asked to pay with cash if possible, but they do still take card. Will try to remember to carry cash next time.

Happened by today for the first time. Super fresh bagels - we had 4 different kinds with different cream cheese and they were all excellent. They are very friendly - especially on your first visit. They explain how to store them for later, but we didn’t have any leftovers! Look forward to our next visit!

As a bagel aficionado, let me start by saying, NYC bagels are simply the best. I’ve always been loyal to Absolute Bagels in the Big Apple, and outside of NYC, I’ve never found a bagel that could compare. That is, until I discovered Boil & Bake Bagels in Justin, TX.
If you know, you know. If not, you better have a friend in the hospitality industry who does. Boil & Bake Bagels is the hidden gem you didn’t know you were missing. They don’t advertise, they don’t bother with anything other than their ten classic varieties, and they certainly don’t cater to millennial modifications. It’s simply OG bagels and cream cheese 101, and they nail it every time.
Pro tip: get there 30 minutes before they open to ensure you don’t make a wasted trip. When they sell out, they close up shop, no exceptions.
The owner, a true bagel connoisseur from Brooklyn, insists that you shouldn’t toast their bagels. This way, you can fully appreciate the complexity of the dough. So, here’s my suggestion: buy two. One her way, no toasting, to savor the authentic texture and flavor. And one my way, lightly toasted with cream cheese on the side. Let it cool just a bit so the creamy, elegant texture of their perfect schmear doesn’t melt.
Boil & Bake Bagels in Justin, TX is the real deal. Trust me, it’s worth the early wake-up call. You’ll feel like you’re biting into a piece of NYC, right here in Texas.

Excellent, high-quality bagels! My cinnamon bagel was soft, and the cream cheese had just the right amount of flavor. The place also has a very charming atmosphere. LOVED IT!!!

Very pleasantly surprised with this place. Small little shop but the woman working was very friendly and explained everything to me since I had never been there. I got a couple bagels to bring home and tried egg salad on a salt bagel. The bagel and egg salad were both very tasty. I'll be coming again
