After visiting this restaurant just once, it became my new favorite restaurant in the DFW area. We are taking our granddaughter back as soon as possible! What was not to love? The appetizer was delicious. Both of our entrees were complete and complimented with wonderful "sides" that were not only pretty on the plate, but very, very tasty! The atmosphere is very special. It was warm and inviting, not pretentious; And the live entertainment of very gifted musicians made the evening perfect! (Best arrangement of Breezy that I have ever heard!) There is a small area for dancing cheek to cheek... and if wine is your must have, their wine list is complete. We have ONE COMPLAINT.... THE NAME!!!! Several times we wanted to recommend this restaurant to friends, and neither of us could remember the name! And yes, the bread is very thin, BUT DELICIOUS..... And if your partner's birthday is REALLY, REALLY, IMPORTANT to you that it be celebrated...I suggest telling them before you are walking out the door. We found the service very accommodating... When we asked for extra bread. Just saying...AND did someone say there was OUTSIDE DINING???? I STRONGLY DISAGREE. A little cafe table in front of a restaurant is fine in a crowded Paris side street, but I would hardly call it a fine dining option! Eat inside. It is lovely!

The food is fantastic as well as the atmosphere. Great place to dine. On the weekend make a reservation.

We had dinner there last night. The atmosphere and design of the restaurant is fantastic and such a great addition to the local scene. It's comfortable, romantic, sort of "Clubby" in a cool way, a great place to meet up with friends and enjoy the evening. But, there is work to be done bring it all together. We arrived just before 7pm, and there were 2-3 tables being served. We were greeted and escorted to our table. We ordered the Mussels as an appetizer, salads, and the Salmon, and the Filet au poivre as our mains.Another reviewer noted the need to fine tune the service, and our experience was similar. Our server was very pleasant and helpful. But the sequence of food delivery is a "make or break" hurdle for any restaurant and the coordination of what was ordered with what/when the kitchen prepares the next course is key.Our mussels arrived, and to be honest, having just returned from Belgium, they were as good or better than what we had in Brussels. Bravo!!!But... As we were just enjoying our Mussels our salads arrived. The salads sat on the table while eating the our appetizer. BTW: We asked for a balsamic vinaigrette, but they brought us a balsamic reduction. Which was very thick and not easy to mix with the salads. We finished the Mussels, and started on our salads, and then our main courses arrived. A little early, but no big deal. The Salmon was ordered to be medium rare-medium, but was closer to medium-medium well and dry.The Filet, was MR and tender but the sauce was overtly salty and took away from the flavor of the Filet. The frites, were near perfection.Bottom line, Vieux Carre' is a welcome addition to the Flower Mound restaurant scene. French Cuisine can be a challenge, but when done right can be a huge success and a fun dining experience. Fine tuning the service, and food prep are keys to any restaurant, and the same is true for Vieux Carre. They have a great concept, and huge potential for carving out their place in the local area.Value for the price is good, and we will return, for another try for if nothing else, to have wine, and enjoy more Mussels! But with so many options in the area, our hope is that improvements continue.Stay the course Vieus Carre, and keep fine tuning the product and service. You're on to something very special.

Horrible food. I ordered lunch and was served an appetizer that wasn’t even good. Let’s just say, I left there and went somewhere else to eat. The atmosphere is nice, but the food wasn’t good at all. I will never go back there again.

Beautiful restaurant! Very attentive service. Drinks were tasty with interesting presentation. Had the Fried Brie and Scallop appetizers. The French Onion Soup was delicious and well balanced (not too bland, not too salty). Boeuf Bourgogne was very tender and tasty. Finished with huge piece of delicious chocolate cake. Will definitely be back!

Fantastic experience here last night. The food is amazing. We had fried Brie and escargot, salads, French onion soup. Monte Cristo, French dip, the salmon with spectacular cream sauce. Really nice interior and a live band with a fiddler. Service was great even on a crowded Saturday night. If you're ever in the area make sure to stop here and try it out!

I loved the atmosphere, comfy booth and lighting was great! The service was great too! We had the escargot and it was some of the best I've ever had. Highly recommend if you like!

Second trip to Vieux...onion soup and tomato soup delicious. The salmon was the best I have had in flower mound...great sauce, cooked perfectly. Once again very pleased with food, drink and the friendly folks who do a great job in my opinion. Wish Vieux the best! P.S. try the Vieux Carre cocktail...bet you like it! Cheers! Jim

Met a girlfriend here for lunch and was blown away. The decor is beautifully classy without being stuffy, our server was delightful and very attentive, and the food was magnifique. I had the tomato basil soup and the pear and walnut spring salad. Highly recommend this lovely new cafe and look forward to coming back soon.

Food was okay. Doesn’t seem to be the right genre of food for the location.

Delicious and generous portions. I had the Monte Cristo, and my sister had the French Dip. Both were yummy! Love the shoestring fries. It was our first time there, and we will definitely be returning.

Love the atmosphere and food. I thought the service was lacking. I don't fault the young man who was our server. He was very pleasant. I believe he hadn't been properly trained on how to be an efficient server. I will definitely go back and look forward to dining there again. I would like to see more seafood choices on the dinner menu.
