If you like food served at room temperature, you will love Whiskey and Smoke. Absolutely everything was room temperature except the green beans; they were served hot. There were maybe two other tables eating so it’s not like they were busy. The brisket was served cold and tough and the sauce they served on the side was right out of the refrigerator. I feel for the investors of this restaurant. It’s not going to end well.

The food was good but I wouldn't say great like a true custom BBQ. The drinks were good and decently priced. The service was mediocre. Was never asked if we had everything we needed and the glasses of water were constantly empty. And the water there, I couldn't tell if it was the water itself or the glass, was for me.....undrinkable. We'll go back and give it a 2nd try.

We went for my wife’s birthday and we were well taken care of. The service was impeccable and the food was absolutely delicious. We sat at a table by the river walk and the atmosphere was perfect. Can’t wait to go back.

Great food
I hosted a surprise retirement party for my wife yesterday at Whiskey-N-Smoke down on the River Walk—and let me just say, she wasn’t the only one in for a pleasant surprise!
I had never eaten there before, but I liked the location, appreciated how easy it was to get to, and wanted to support a local spot. From start to finish, working with Jamie Creevy, the GM, was a breeze. Planning an event can sometimes feel like herding cats, but Jamie and the team made it smooth and stress-free.
The menu? A mouthwatering lineup of brisket, smoked chicken, potato salad, Cole slaw, green beans, salad—you name it. Everything was flavorful, generously portioned, and honestly, just downright delicious. (Let’s just say no one left hungry or without a to-go box.)
The servers and bartender were top-notch—attentive, kind, and on top of everything. The bartender even crafted a perfect strawberry lemon drop for my wife, which quickly became the drink of the afternoon. (We may or may not have a new family tradition.)
Everyone raved about the food, the service, and the venue—and I couldn’t agree more. This was my first time at Whiskey & Smoke, but it certainly won’t be my last.

Update your hours on Google. There’s nothing more annoying to someone from out of town who shows up to eat lunch (cause it says you’re open) and the schedule on the door says you’re not….
Interesting BBQ fusion spot! Visited frequently, only let down once. Great wine and whiskey selection!
Excellent service, food was great too!
My family ordered two meals that were sub par at that. The meat was dry and did not have much flavor to it. The meal was supposed to come with their seasonal cobbler which we did not get. When I tried to call them, no one answered. I called them FIVE times and to no avail. It is especially frustrating because when I walked in there, there were only three employees and no customers. I am highly disappointed with the food quality and with the amount we spent on the meal just to not have it all there and no one answering the phones.
Good was great and the entertainment is spot on. Definitely the best place on the Riverwalk!

I don’t usually write reviews like this, but our 2 PM Mother’s Day brunch was such a letdown, I felt the need to speak up — especially after bringing my whole family there in good faith.
The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, which was surprising for a holiday. There was no celebratory atmosphere, no decor, and to make things worse, the food was already picked over. We sat down at 2:10 PM, and the ham carving station was already down to bones. When I asked if it would be refilled, the staff said, “That’s all we have left.”
It quickly became clear that everything had been sitting out since earlier seatings (11 AM, 12 PM, 1 PM). Nothing was refreshed. Nothing restocked. Then by 2:40 PM — while we were still trying to get food for the kids — they had already started clearing the buffet. Only a few trays remained. When I asked why, the staff said, “We’re just doing what the manager told us.”
That said it all. Either the manager didn’t realize people had paid for a 2 PM seating, or didn’t care. We paid $50 per person, and it felt like we walked into a party that was already over. Cold pancakes, dry bacon, an omelet — that’s about it.
I kept saying sorry to my family. They didn’t complain, but everyone just wanted to leave.
I truly don’t know how this passed as a special occasion brunch. And I really don’t know where all the glowing reviews came from — our experience felt nothing like that. If I could do it over, I would’ve picked any other local spot — somewhere that puts care into their service and food, unlike this place.
It’s exactly the kind of experience that makes people say Riverwalk restaurants are in decline — and now I understand why. We won’t be back.
Came to Whisky and Smoke for a special event, Mystery Murder Dinner. The entertainment was good, but it was interactive and had you mingling. The food they served was a four course meal, and the prime rib was definitely top tier. I’m a fan of tequila old fashions and they had a pretty good one on the menu. Definitely would recommend either for regular dinner or their special events.
I was disappointed our last trip. I really liked it before the change. Now they are just average.
Place is okay, I feel the prices are high for the quality of food. My steak was $35 it had a lot of fat on it I had to eat around.

Made a reservation for our anniversary and then was told upon arrival that the wait was an hour. Band sounded great, too bad they had zero tables outside saved.
