A friend took me here. The special was the rib plate with choice of two sides. They also have two different bbq sauces. I got the pork ribs with corn and cornbread casserole. OH MY!! I had eaten cornbread casserole before, this one did not disappoint. And the portion was huge. There were four huge ribs. I tried them with the spicy sauce and with no sauce. They were fantastic either way. Everyone always says that the meat fell off of the bone when talking about ribs. These not only fell off the bone they jumped up into my mouth. They were epic with or without sauce. The place had two dining areas and it looked like some outside dining. The place was very simple and comfortable. It looked like it was family run, and what a fantastically friendly family. The service was quick and the portions large. I will definitely return. When I do, I am certain to have the cornbread casserole.

I’m a carnivore and ate here for the first time today. I eat a lot of meat and I cook a lot of meat and I won’t pass this place when I travel thru without eating here. It’s really good and not much impresses me with meat anymore and this one did. Y’all keep it up.

This is my absolute favorite spot to eat!! I love the staff, they are truly so kind and genuine, everytime my brother comes from Houston he wants to eat here but also makes sure to bring his bff some texas twinkies back. The tamale pie has been my go to lately but literally everything is soooo delicious 😋 😍 very family friendly atmosphere and would 100% recommend this place for anyone who hasnt tried it!! I dont eat anything with a bone and I tried a piece off a rib for the 1st time and OMG!! Apparently ive been missing out!! Best smoke flavor on all the meat. Turkey is so juicy and flavorful, all the sides are delicious as well! Go try it you wont be disappointed!

I am Arkansas. This was my first time trying out this restaurant. I must that the food and the portions were very good. In fact before we left to go to Arkansas we got a big order of food to we be back again 😋😋

My husband called in to order chicken tamales Saturday morning to eat later for dinner.. it’s now dinner time and all the tamales we ordered are not chicken.. they are all meat which I don’t eat pork or anything else other than chicken.. so now I’m here upset because now I have nothing to eat. I wish you guys would pay better attention to details and get the orders right. My dinner was ruined 😭. Zero stars for service and lack of attention to detail.

I love their food. The baked potato with one meat,brisket quesadilla, and chicken tamales are beyond great! I always take it to-go but it seems like a great place to eat as well. I always get the tamales with my food, 1/2 dozen each time. Reason why I spend $20 - 30 each time.

2 weeks ago I came to Forney for a High School Football playoff game..I live in East Texas, 2 hours from Forney..My sister and I didn't want to drive the extraaa milesss to get Texas Twinkies from Hutchins BBQ so we googled Texas Twinkies/Forney Texas and this Gem, El Tejas Twist popped up.. Oh my God! The Texas Twinkies were just as good as Hutchins only a tad smaller and were cheaper..The Pork Belly taco was greattt good flavor and very tender.. Tender juicy brisket..Oh and yes I did get more than a few Texas Twinkies to carry home.. You don't have to drive all the way to Hutchins to get some good BBQ..Very clean establishment and polite friendly workers..
Food was really good... brisket juicy, ribs need a little more seasoning... didn't like the elote much....birra flantus was good as well not enough cheese... but good..

By far the best ribs anywhere, brisket is up there and so is the jalapeño cheddar sausage. I've eaten bbq from all over the state and US, this place is in my top 10. I'm surprised it hasn't blown up, I've been several times and always expect a line out the door, but the word hasn't made it to the masses.

Man....! The brisket did not make close to the chain. It was OFF THE CHAIN! This is a really cool spot I love outdoor setting. This place has inside, a patio that can be closed outside and an outside. Definitely coming back especially when they have live music.
