"I recently dined at Rio Lerma and tried their Pollo con Hongos dish. While the plate itself was absolutely delicious, I couldn't help but feel a bit deceived by the name. Expecting a chicken and mushroom combination, I was surprised to find poblano peppers instead of mushrooms. The flavors were still fantastic, with the chicken cooked to perfection and the poblano adding a nice twist to the dish. In terms of the mushroom content, it was limited and barely visible compared to the more than a handful of poblano peppers. Perhaps a more fitting name for the dish would be Chicken and Poblano. One key difference I noticed from traditional Chicken Fajitas is that in Pollo con Hongos, you cut your own chicken breast as opposed to it being already sliced in the fajitas. So, basically, Chicken Fajitas and this dish are quite similar."

I was blown away by thus restaurant. I thought it was just OK. Think I'll try another place when in the area.

We’ve become regulars here since moving to the area but that has changed as of tonight.I had the Hugo enchiladas and found a stick, a literal piece of wood, in my enchilada. I showed the waitress and she said it was seasoning…. I asked what kind but she just kept saying it was seasoning. She took the stick back near the bar where about 5 other employees looked at it and obviously didn’t know what it was. When the waitress came back I asked again and she said the same thing. Then the manager came out with a tub of bay leaves and told me thats what it was. I cook with bay leaves and have never seen a wooden stem on them, yet she insulted my intelligence and refused to acknowledge the error. No discount was offered, no apology was made. They wouldn’t even give me back the stick so I could take a picture. They could have easily apologized, admitted the error but they did nothing. The right thing to do would have been to comp my meal along with the above actions. I could have choked or been injured and that may still happen to someone else since they aren’t concerned at all.I’m actually in shock. I won’t be back and I don’t recommend.

Food was pretty good but it's definitely not my favorite Mexican restaurant. Service was above average, portions were pretty big. Chips and hot sauce were so-so. Again, not my favorite.

One of our favorite places in Forney. My husband loves everything he's ordered here! I have some food sensitivities, so I have to be a little more careful about what I order at Mexican restaurants. I can't eat rice and beans. They have options with potatoes and veggies as the sides instead of rice and beans. The Lerma's Chicken is amazing! The queso with brisket is so good! My husband loves the mole and also the sopapillas. Generous portions. The Skinny Margarita is also great!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and grain free options, but not commenting in this review on GF if you have Celiac.

Had the best service the other day here. Unfortunately I do not remember her name. But she was attentive and thoughtful. Ordered the brisket enchiladas and they were soo good. Food was nice and hot as well. Never had an empty glass or chips and salsa. The best service I’ve had in years.

On St Patrick’s day we had a party of 11 which turned into 14. After calling the day before to get reservations, the manager advised that it was 1st come 1st served. She did say she would do her best. On arrival we were promptly seated and our drink orders taken. The wait staff was professional and very helpful as most of our guests had never been to Rio Lerma. Our party was half non english speaking and the wait staff did not flinch. Everything was fantastic. The food was exceptionally wonderful. A grand time was had by all. My thanks to the manager who had said she would do her best.

Kinda took forever for our food to come or to even be able to order. Sat for like 30mins before someone even took our order or had a drink. Food was okay not all that. Who serves burritos with fries. I should’ve went somewhere else when I seen that. Would I come back heck no. Drinks was strong but that’s bout it. Once again Forney food disappointed me.
