Party of 25. The southern social eatery at the OC is top-tier the southern comfort food reminded me of a family gathering in the backyard from the braised oxtails with yellow rice. The macaroni, and the collard greens were my favorite. We also ordered their fried catfish which was also chefs kiss as well as their tenders and wings. Everything came out fresh and hot. Mrs. Rolanda and her staff were very hospitable. I highly recommend the Southern social eatery at the OC.

My name is jade and I absolutely love this place. I always get a peach mango and some fried macaroni balls or loaded. French fries. The staff is wonderful and very kind to us every time me and my kids go in there. Everything is cooked to perfection. My job knows I come here at least almost every day for lunch. Highly highly recommend.
Took my mom there for dinner. I was expecting a sit down restaurant but saw that it was apart of a school building which kind of threw me off a little bit but I tried it out anyway. Had the gumbo and it was the closest homemade gumbo I’ve had here in the Dallas area. We loved it!! I bought the fried pork chops and collard greens and my mom got the ox tails. But we couldn’t eat it because the gumbo portion was so big. If it’s as good as the gumbo was to us we can’t wait to get hungry again. We got tired of eating holiday foods and wanted something different. Glad we tried Southern Social. I’ll definitely come again. Hope this spot will get their own building soon.

This is my favorite restaurant they have the best food and drinks omg I highly recommend this restaurant you will not be disappointed. The service is amazing customer friendly. Wroth the price.
Wow this place was the absolute worst. I came with my family to the drone show there by the college (which was great) , however the food, not so much. I ordered two burgers, Mac and Cheese, Sweet Potato Fries, Diet Coke and a Water. I ended up missing a burger (which I later saw they didn’t charge me for but we definitely ordered it, one of us went without food). I asked for no cheese on the burger, there was cheese. The Mac was ok but tiny. The Fries were uncooked and inedible. My Diet Coke was completely flat, I took one sip and couldn’t drink it. When I went back to give them feedback there were no apologies, nothing. I showed them the full Diet Coke and said all I wanted was to switch it out for one with carbonation. The managers question was “did you open it?” I said yes, that’s how I knew it was flat. She said she can’t exchange it if it’s open. Really this place is a disaster, stay far away!

I’ve eaten here before and only had the oxtails. I decided to purchase the loaded seafood potato about a month ago and didn’t really like the brown sauce. Today I purchased the loaded steak and cheese potato and it was HORRIBLE!
The potato literal was cooked a week ago and reheated to the point that the skin was uneatable, rubbery like leather!
The potato was grey in color, just disgusting. For $22 I expect better! My family and I have eaten here before but never again!

It’s truly a hit pr miss with this place I had some of the best fried chicken from here but the catfish, Mac and yams I ordered was completely rushed. Catfish was hard as a brick yams was soupy I could drink it and Mac didn’t taste like it came from the south. Overall I give them a 7/10

This place have a great country menu. Not southern but country. This is my opinion only. The candied yams are cut to thick, I had to chop each yams into at lease 3 pieces and add the sauce from the bowl to each yam so that they would not taste dry. The sauce that the yams are in, is to die for. The catfish, was seasoned just right. The peach cobbler is a dessert that I can order everytime I eat here. If she add some ice cream to the peach cobbler, OMG. The Mac and cheese was not my cup of tea. She has 3 different types of cheeses and it was seasoned but the cheese did not cover all the pasta. (Some people like Mac and cheese prepared that way) The topping on the banana pudding was not appealing at all. And I like to see the banana and wafers.
This review is not to detour anyone from visiting it establishment. Because, it is a really good place to eat. And the staff is very nice.
