Finally tried this place today and I don’t why it took me so long. The food was delicious! Probably one the best places to eat in Forney. The food looks just like the pictures in advertisements and tastes even better. I’ll definitely be returning. Definitely quality, handmade food, here.

My best friend and I stopped by for lunch. The food was so good, we called our husbands to join us! The food was served hot and fresh. I’m so grateful the chef/owner suggested we each order something different to sample. The only thing I didn’t like was the ox tails, but the others loved them. The peach cobbler was the bomb too! I can’t recommend this place enough. If it wasn’t a shame I would go back today.

Listen, folks if you haven't been to Southern Social Eatery at the OC, you should go...asap!!! Everything is Goooodt!!! 🤌🏾The Crawfish and Gumbo are totally on point for this Louisiana Girl! Oh and the customer service is outstanding! 😋😋😋 Whatever you order, it WIIL BE GOOD!

I've been here twice. After the first time I said that I would never come back. Expensive, small portions, waited an hour for the food. Only to get home and the Salisbury steak was TOUGH and not edible. The mushroom sauce was pretty good, but I had no edible protein to eat it with. The peach cobbler had a weird/funny taste. The mac n cheese was dry. I was SO disappointed.
Then I decided to try again today 2/14/25. Theres not many food options in Forney and people swear up and down you need to give these small businesses "second chances." So to avoid the wait, I ordered online. Arrived and still had to wait 15 minutes. The food was ready. But there was a line of people ordering. Above the register there are 2 signs. One for orders and one for pickup. I waited on the pickup side, but that didn't do any good. I was trying to flag one of the other workers down, didn't work. All I was trying to go was get my food and go.
Once I got to the front of the line, I mentioned that I was waiting in line for 15 minutes for a order that i had already paid AND tipped in advance for while my food was just sitting on the counter getting cold. No apology, nothing. She just handed me the bag that had been sitting there on the counter this whole time.
Most places have a designated pick up area to avoid this issue. Waiting in the regular line to pick up a pre paid order Is CRAZY!!
The staff at restaurant were very friendly and professional. The restaurant was clean and the food was really good. It’s a nice spot to eat at in Forney. I ordered Salisbury with cabbage, Mac n cheese and corn cake. Everything was delicious! I will definitely be back again.

This food was very good. I had catfish fried crispy outside and tender inside. It was NOT SALTY. Cole slaw was very tasty, and a unique flavor complimented the fish. I'll be back. This was my first time here, I absolutely enjoyed my food choices. Fish , collard, Cole slaw, lamb chop, ox tail, Mac and cheese , the staff are very nice like they enjoy their art of cooking great food and serving their guests. Thanks, johnnell w.
