“We were passing through Fort Stockton on our way to Big Bend. We arrived late afternoon, checked into the hotel and started looking for a cool place to hang out outside for a few hours. We first went to a wine bar. It seemed nice and had an awesome patio. We were told that the patio was not open because it was too cold. It seems that they could have turned on some of the patio heaters, but they did not offer. We left and found The Old ‘76 right down the road. Billy was opening the place when we arrived. This place is an outside only bar. Billy immediately turned on some of the outdoor heaters and later started a fire in the fire pit. The only people there were myself and my partner and two other couples that were using The Old ‘76’s harvest host sites. I was very impressed with Billy’s willingness to do anything to make our experience more comfortable (even for just a handful of guests) We all stayed a few hours conversing with each other and Billy as well. A few younger people showed up right before we left as well. I would definitely recommend this place for an amazing outdoor experience.“
“Was in town for a Saturday night (traveling), after checking in to my hotel, went over a drink and relaxation. Bartender was courteous and ambiance was nice. They have a few pool tables. Everyone seemed to know eachother which makes sense (small town). Definitely would swing by there again.“
“Overnight stop in Fort Stockton. K-Bob's was recommended for a good steak. We both had the Ribeye medium rare. Cooked perfectly with a nice char on the outside and red inside. The 16oz was nice and thick. They have a great salad bar with a lot of items to choose from. After being on the road all day, a tall ice cold beer was called for.“
