There are a lot of “speakeasy” type establishments, but most often fail to meet the expectation one conjures when they imagine what a quality speakeasy experience should look, feel, and taste like. The Amber Room meets and exceeds these imagined expectations. From the overall vibe & aesthetic, to the engraved ice cubes, and their well curated whisky library this place is all about ensuring you remember the experience. The icing on the cake is when the barkeep is on point too. Derek is a legit cocktail artist who is appropriately conversational, but laser focused on ensuring you’re comfortable and getting the full Amber Room experience. It doesn’t hurt he is the world’s “okayest” bartender either. And according to rumors on X (Twitter) his Whisky Sour is probably one of the best in the entire DFW market. Great place for a date. Great place for good, soulful, libation infused conversations, but comfortable enough for a solo guy (like me) to pull up to the bar and settle in for a few rounds. Keep The Amber Room at the top of your go-to places in the DFW area!

Stopped in the Amber room with 2 friends. We were sitting at the end of the bar closest to the restaurant when a young lady walks to my left and asked the bartender about drinks. I said to her the wine I had was quite nice. She pops off to me about my toxic masculinity and gets nasty! I ask for management to do something about it. Nothing! Both my friends which were both female were appalled! NEVER going back!

We wanted to try this place for my sister’s birthday. The staff was extremely rude to my family members when asked if they could make a particular mixed drink. The woman bartender made no eye contact with my step-father and blatantly said “I can tell you right now we don’t have ANY type of ingredients to make that.” She didn’t even attempt to make the drink or even ask what ingredients it required so how would she have known she didn’t have the ingredients??? The environment was nice but we won’t be returning because of the staff.

If I had made this review any time before about a week ago, everything would have been 5 stars. This was my husband and my favorite bar, with both of our favorite drinks, and one of the only places we would return to repeatedly, albeit not super often.
Wishbone and flynt, the restaurant next door, has now I suppose taken over amber room, as they are the name listed on the charge from our visit to amber room (which we actually visited just prior to going this most recent time, and were also very unimpressed, already having planned not to return to wishbone and flynt).
Amber Room has drastically changed its menu as far as I can tell (going off those 2 drinks alone, because we loved them so much we never ordered anything different). We saw that the drinks were no longer on the menu, and when my husband asked if they were still able to make them or anything like them, he was responded to fairly rudely, by a staff member that has made them for us in the past. If the ingredients are no longer in stock, that is one thing, but the rude attitude about it is just even more disappointing.
If you want a 10/10 atmosphere, go! Just don’t get too attached to any menu items or dare ask about them when they’re gone.

Beautiful hidden bar with amazing drinks. The manager was kind enough to let my fiancé and I take some beautiful engagement photos there. They came out stunning the beauty of this place with all color made the photos come out moody and dark just what I wanted. Thank you!

Don’t go here if you look out of place or have an out of state ID they are the rudest speakeasy I’ve ever been to and will never come back again. Do not waste your time here! The bartender didn’t even say hello, say “what” and paid over 40 dollars for two drinks. Do not waste your time or money at this establishment.
