Allow me to elaborate - as a matter of fact, I did indeed visit your fine establishment and admire the many taxidermied animals, antler chandeliers, & various other decor strewn about. In particular, I enjoyed the wood duck portrait hung in the dining area. While me and my lovely wife did so enjoy the atmosphere, we were unimpressed by the quality of the meal. My steak was undercooked and likewise drenched in a sweet sauce that I was ill-informed of, and I did not think the quality of food was up to par with what I was paying for. I am a private, yet quite serious person when it comes to my culinary preferences and reviews. As such, my review reflects my honest opinion of your restaurant, Sir Bonnell. While we did appreciate your efforts of kind and honest labor in service, I believe you might also respect the sincerity of my disposition! Good day and thank you kindly.

I’m honestly not sure where to begin. We left feeling shocked and disappointed, especially because my husband has been wanting to try this place for years. We love celebrating special occasions at fine dining restaurants in the area, and with so many glowing reviews, making a reservation felt like an easy choice.
Things started off a bit shaky. Our son ordered a lemonade, but it tasted off—more like Mountain Dew than lemonade. When we asked, our server explained that they only offer bottled lemonade and apologized for not mentioning it wasn’t fresh. Not a big deal on its own, so we moved on.
For our meal, we ordered a variety of dishes: the redfish, a 16oz ribeye, shrimp and grits, and elk tacos. Unfortunately, none of them landed for us. The fish was dry, the ribeye lacked flavor, and the shrimp and grits—usually one of my favorite dishes—were covered in queso in a way that really overwhelmed everything else. By the end, we were genuinely confused about how our experience lined up with the restaurant’s 4.9-star reputation.
I want to be clear that this is just our experience, and I know many people absolutely love this place. I’m not trying to discourage anyone from trying it for themselves. It just wasn’t the right fit for us, and my husband has been apologizing ever since. $230 I wish we could have back. I think I’ll be having some ice cream at home to reset my palate. Bummed.

Always a wonderful experience coming to dine with you! Mel is always super nice and professional.
Our evening at Bonnell’s in Fort Worth was memorable from start to finish. Bartender Dalton delivered some of the most surprising and thoughtful service we’ve ever experienced. After years of ordering martinis, we’d never had one served quite like this. Each martini arrived in a frosted glass, and just as the glass began to lose its chill, Dalton quietly swapped it for a freshly frosted one, keeping the drink perfectly cold and fresh throughout our pre-dinner drinks at the bar.
The food was elevated Texas comfort at its finest, starting with Texas oyster Rockefeller and fried quail legs, followed by entrees that included elk, bison, and filet, with indulgent sides of gooey smoky mac and cheese and perfectly prepared greens.
We were celebrating our mother’s birthday, which meant plenty of laughing, visiting, and sharing stories (not much attention paid to menus or timing). The staff graciously read the room, allowing us to enjoy one another while delivering seamless, attentive, and unobtrusive service. Bonnell’s struck the perfect balance of exceptional food, thoughtful hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere, making it an evening we’ll happily remember and repeat.

Amazing experience all around! The food was absolutely stellar! Our steaks were cooked to perfection and the lobster bites melted in our mouths. The service was great as usual. I had the best birthday! Thank you so much!
A home run. It was NY Eve. The service was attentive and personal. Three appetizers. Antelope carpaccio. Fried quail. Texas bruschetta. The first two were memorable. The bruschetta was average. Entrees. Redfish and elk backstrap, they were both quite good - with decent portion size. We split a dessert - a very good crème brûlée. Suds? A cold bottle of Moët Chandon. A good time was had by all!!
Everything tasted great and was cooked to perfection! The dining area is always well lit and quiet enough for easy conversation. This is one of our favorite restaurants!

Have been wanting to go to Bonnell's since moving to Fort Worth. We love Waters, so we're excited to try it. The interior is very interesting with a wooden pergola-like structure in the center of the room for a divider. It added a richness with the wood tone, but was also very effective for noise control. Food was so tasty and the service terrific. Definitely want to go back!

We had reservations for 5 at Texas de Brazil, only to find out that even with a reservation, it was going to be over an hour wait! I called Bonnell’s and they were able to get us in and took excellent care of us as always. Save yourself some time, call Bonnell’s first!

A+ across the board! My mom, uncle, and I shared a lovely meal here starting with their nilgai carpaccio and fried quail legs, and then we got the Elk backstrap, braised lamb shank, and peppered buffalo for entrées, and finished with apple cobbler. They have a great wine, selection and fun cocktail menu and the service team did a great job constantly checking in without being intrusive to our meal. Would absolutely go back!
Our server was so attentive and we had our older friends with us. She was on the spot with everything they asked and everything they needed. We live Bonnells. AND the dirty martini was excellent.
