Good food and good service. They were a little crowded when we arrived, but we still got our food quickly.

The food is always tasty and plentiful and the service attentive and cheerful. Their tortilla soup is served with the the soup makings in the bowl and you pour the broth on yourself - it is incredibly good. One thing I love, love, love about this place is it is quiet enough to have a conversation while dining. A large part of enjoying a good meal is being able to enjoy the people you're dining with. That's hard to do if you spend the meal hollering at each other or being distracted by half a dozen tv screens like you have to do in many places.

Henry is great. He will always take good care of you
Karen and the ENTIRE staff at this El Chico location is absolutely stellar! Our food was amazing and the desserts are even better than I remembered. This gem of a spot should be a frequent stop in your dining schedule.

Great service. Fantastic margaritas. Best food.
Food the last time we went was really good. Brought my mom and dad while they where in town and we'll let just say the service and food was not what we had the first time. Wife and I wanted to share fajitas, the waiter suggested to do the fajitas for two. But he didn't say it was an extra $30. So we ended up paying for basically 2 separate fajitas opposed to obly paying the $32.. the amount of food that was brought out was NOT worth $60 for just that alone... when we obly got rice and some beans as extra? Not to mention the waiter spilled water on my father's lap. Not just a cup, a hole pitcher. Not that i wanted any thing but they couldve offers something you know? Really wanted the apple pie, but after that happend he wouldn't come back to the table... and when he finally did ask, we had already asked for the check. Really sorry experience for their first time.. if we go back I really hope it's better. But not sure I will after this..

“HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT”
I have been eating at El Chico since I was a boy in 1980. El Chico has always been a great place to eat. I was very disappointed when I ate here because the fajita steak enchiladas had almost two cups of grilled onions and only a sprinkle of meat of two cheese enchiladas. The El Chico in Rockwall is very good and never disappoints. I live in Houston and haven’t eaten at El Chico in 4 years because there isn’t one in Houston. I won’t ever eat at this one again. The atmosphere was more live a dive bar, the chairs were sticky and it just isn’t somewhere you’d want to relax and have a good meal with friends or family. Sad but true!!
