This is my favorite Northside place to eat because, one the food is always great. Two the atmosphere is the best of all the nostalgia from the cattle drive to the rodeos.
While staying at the StockYard Hotel in Fort Worth,TX Thursday night, We dined at iconic H3 RANCH steakhouse. This restaurant is actually connected to the historical hotel and is conveniently located on the corner of Main and Exchange streets. Fort Worth stockyards is where the bulls walk down the street guided by cowboys on horseback twice daily. Followed by the Thursday night bull riding event at the Cowtown Coliseum. At H3 we were pleased with our dinner choices. My husband 9 oz filet was cooked to perfection.I had the piled high deep fried catfish that I enjoyed. Some meals were served with roasted corn in the husk on the open fire. I topped of my meal with a Mule cocktail simply delightful. For all you who want to have the dining experience in original structure you must book before January 31, 2026 at which time the H3 will close for a long time while it's renovated.
We went for an anniversary dinner. I ordered the catfish which had no flavor, my wife ordered the porterhouse steak, it was undercooked and tough. It definitely was not worth the price. We will never go back.
We are repeat customers. Usually save this restaurant for a birthday dinner or something special. My husband wanted to come for his birthday specifically for the burnt ends. We had a fairly early reservation for 5:30. After being seated he went to order only to be told the one thing he came for, was sold out already and it was only 5:45. Disappointing to make the trip for a special night and he didn't even get to enjoy what he came for. Service was great though.
Been there a few times, food and service is good. However, I will point out everytime I order stake here it never comes out hot. It's always just warm or slightly less than warm, as if they just let the plate sit for a long time before they bring it to your table. Idk maybe I'm picky lol but just never feels like you're getting it straight off the grill, feels like warm. But overall it's great place.
Always good food and even better service. Right location with convenient access to all stockyard activities.
Waitress disappeared for 15-20 at a time. Ran out of drinks multiple times. Smoked sirloin was tough rib eye was overcooked. Spinach was slimy. The corn was really good however.
Visiting from Atlanta, I had high expectations for Fort Worth's dining scene—and this restaurant exceeded every single one. From the moment I walked in, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Our server struck the perfect balance between professional and personable, making us feel completely taken care of without ever hovering. The drinks were exceptional, creative cocktails with balanced flavors and great presentation. You can tell the bar team takes real pride in their craft. Both the steak and the trout were outstanding. The steak was cooked perfectly, tender, flavorful, and seasoned just right. The trout was equally impressive—fresh, beautifully prepared, and full of delicate flavor. It's rare to find a place that does both land and sea this well. Fort Worth has definitely gained a fan in me, and this restaurant will be the first place I return to on my next trip. Highly recommend!

Food was amazing. Best baked potato I've had in a while!! The champagne toast for our anniversary was very good. Definitely going back.

Food was very good. Prime Rib. Service and hospitality was excellent. Bethany. Really enjoyed the atmosphere.
Read reviews that this restaurant had "gone downhill." Did not find that to be true. Food was excellent and the portions generous. A guest could see the kitchen and the people working diligently in it. The waitress we had (did not get her name) was accommodating. We celebrated our anniversary there, and she asked us about how long and generally was engaging about what we would be doing in Fort Worth to celebrate. She offered some suggestions which we took her up on. She was right. Fort Worth was fun and the restaurant was very good. Would definitely return there.
Went here for the first time and I liked it. We usually go next door but too much has changed there so now found a new steak house for my family at H3
