Everything I go to this Hatcreek I get a little more disappointed. It was so good when they opened. Bow, the service and food quality is random at best. Tonight I got chili, which was great the first time I ordered it. Tonight it was like a bowl of dry taco seasoned meat with cheese on top. It's dry! How do you make dry chili?! Not thick. I do know chili. It's like they forgot some tomato in the batch or something. Everyone makes mistakes, but they chose to serve it this way either not knowing any better (shame on the management) or not caring (karma on them). The higher than expected prices only make it sting more.

I had my food delivered by doordash from Hat Creek. The delivery was great. The food was terrible. very skimpy dry chicken sandwich. Sweet potatoe fries were mushno seasoning. It makes me angry to spend twenty five dollars to have food delivered and then it's not worth eating. I have always ordered from Hat Creek In Roanoke, and they have always been excellent. I recently moved so I ordered from Golden Triangle store, I will never order from them again.

I’m a relatively new customer. I went for my 3rd visit yesterday & it was the only time I’ve been disappointed. I try to get something different each time I go to a new place that I like.

First, just to save anyone a headache, don’t use the kiosk in the store at all if you’re trying to gain rewards points. It won’t recognize your phone number. If you get your receipt e-mailed to you, copy/paste the order number & put it in the app, the app won’t recognize the order. Only order using the app, or have the cashier scan the app if ordering at the register. Don’t use the kiosk at all.

Second, stick to just the burgers & nuggets. Don’t get the chicken breast sandwich. They will overcook it & it’ll be dry. I know, shocker, but now I know for next time.

Third, don’t get the “loaded” fries. They’ll just pile on some shredded cheese on top, melt it a little bit, & only the top layer will get any cheese because by the time you get the food the cheese will solidify on top. It’s best to stick to their queso if you want cheese with your fries or tots.

Fourth, there’s no water dispenser for the soda fountain. That’s a standard everywhere else but at Hat Creek, for some reason. I got Dr. Pepper. The syrup was running a little low, so it was strong on the carbonation. But, with no water dispenser I couldn’t rinse out the cup to get something else, or settle for just water.

On the plus side, everything was as I ordered. So there’s that, at least.

The burgers are great, the restaurant is usually pretty clean and service is good!

Edit 12/24- they now charge $1.30 for a slice of cheese which is outrageous!!!

Really good food! I have several food allergies . I am grateful for their gluten-free fried chicken nuggets, fried pickles and bun that are egg-free, as well. Burger was delicious and fried pickles are good too! My little girl had a lot of fun playing on their play equipment. This will be one of our new favorites!

Kid-friendliness: Love the play area with open air eating area adjacent to it. This makes for easy kid watching and enjoying the fresh air.

Rolled up to Hat Creek Burger with 15 people, and somehow the employees handled it like pros—no panic. The kids took over the playground like tiny CEOs. It’s the kind of place where my uncle Mike tries to act like he’s watching his carbs, but ends up ordering the biggest burger on the menu, while my cousin Leroy eats enough fries to feed an army. The burgers are so good, even they can’t resist. 10/10, would bring my whole crew again. Where do I get one of the red trucker hats?

We have never eaten at the restaurant. So this Monday we decided to try out the restaurant. A nice employee took our order After ordering, he explained the layout of the restaurant, communicated where we could find the drink machines and condiments. He also told us if there was anything else he could help us with he would be right over at the register. Lucky gave us Outstanding customer service! The burgers were tasty and the fries oh so good! We love hat creek! Was sad to see the chicken sandwich leave the menu, but they do a great job. This location always seems to go the extra mile with customer service.
