We got here just as the restaurant opened on a Saturday at lunch time. I was impressed with the exterior of the restaurant and the inside is nice as well. Our server was friendly, efficient and very professional. The atmosphere and service easily deserved 5 stars. As for the food, rating it is not quite as easy. We had the Queso Flameado for an appetizer. It was good and watching the server work the flaming cheese was fun. For my drink I had a mango margarita; it wasn't bad, but I have had better. For me my meal I had a small Coctel de Camarones and the Tres Amigos. The portion size of the Tres Amigos was more than generous, and the prices on all the drinks and meals was very reasonable. My Coctel de Camarones was quite good. I wish I had ordered it as my meal as the rest of the food was not as good. The Tres Amigos dinner came with beef fajitas, a beef enchilada, a crispy beef taco, rice, beans, guacamole and sour cream. The beef fajitas were well-marinated, tender and tasty, but the rest of the food ranged from average (the taco, beans and guacamole) to sub-par (the rice and beef enchilada). I could see myself giving this restaurant another try based on the service and the coctel de camarones, but I'd probably see if there were any other similar restaurants in the area first.
Anna was our server she was friendly and helpful. Table side guacamole was delicious and Flambo Cheese as well. Our seafood was fresh and tasty and the presentation was great. Pina Colada was tasty but icy and difficult to drink.
Awesome food,Price & everything
I highly recommend this place, the food and service was excellent. We had the enchilada plate & fajitas and they were both great as well as the chips & sauce.

We have been coming to this location for a few years now. We've tried another one of their locations but prefer this one. Their aguas frescas are absolutely delicious! My favorite is horchata 😋 Their coctel Maya is really good, and while it might look like it's not enough, trust that it'll fill you up. My husband orders the fajitas. Their enchiladas verses are also very good. Their customer service is always great!

I came here too eat a bagre empanisado. I now one thang is they never change the peanut oil in their kitchen. I tell ya'll cause I go all over DFW to eat seafood. I highly recommend not too go to la playa Maya. The manager said he can't do nothing about it. Seafood is my favorite food. I know when it's cook right or wrong. Bad place too eat.
Absolutely amazing experience at La Playa Mexican Restaurant! The moment you step in, you're welcomed with a warm, friendly atmosphere that instantly feels like home. The food is simply outstanding—authentic, flavorful, and always served fresh. The fajitas are a must-try, bursting with flavor, and the homemade salsa is the best in town. The service is top-notch; the staff is attentive, kind, and makes you feel like family. If you’re looking for an authentic Mexican dining experience in Fort Worth, La Playa off Hemphill is the place to go. Can’t wait to come back!
