Enjoyed the beef fajitas and a margarita! The patio was so enjoyable and reminded me of dining on vacation. I felt like I was somewhere else altogether not just hanging out in FW.

Food overall was okay, but the interior and patio design is SO NICE. You would've never guessed from the unassuming look of the building. It's crazy they only had fajitas and enchiladas on their menu for so long and made it for like 70 years. Would recommend beef over chicken fajita.

As an Arizona native, I must admit this measures up to some of the best! Portions are huge and service is quick. It can get crowded quickly so I recommend you make reservations. There are really two options 1) the enchilada/taco plate that comes with one cheese enchilada, one cheese and onion enchilada and two tacos. This is also served with "nachos" which is just a tostado and rice/beans. 2) fajitas in either chicken or steak served with sour cream, guac, tortillas, beans and rice. In my opinion, best thing on the menu is the refried beans- so good! The margaritas are strong and delicious. On busier nights, there is a guitar player taking requests while he walks the restaurant. Decor is amazing and vibrant and parking is ample. Come prepared with cash only!

Very popular restaurant in the Ft Worth Stockyard area. Spend the afternoon watching the steers being driven through town then go for a meal at Joe T. Garcia's. It's an old tradition and has been open for many decades. Very nice BBQ beef, pork & chicken and other options. Very polite staff and very popular with the visitors. The line can be quite long but we didn't wait but 10-15 minutes. Large portions and variety of options to go with your order It does cater to the tourists who visit the Stockyard area

Worst Mexican food, picture is the inside of my beef enchilada. Inside only had pieces of over cooked, tough meat, nothing else, wrapped in tortilla, with red sauce poured over the tortilla. Rice and beans were ok. Also avoid chicken tortilla soup, only 1 piece of chicken in large bowl of chicken flavor water. It was a total waste of money, won't be going back.

Finally got into this legendary establishment! It's always impressive to dine in a restaurant which only has 6 items on the menu and has been successful. We ordered the fajitas, the enchiladas, and tacos. They all came with "nachos" which is really a tostada with cheese and salsa *** really good flavor plus rice and beans. The fajitas were good, the enchiladas were good, tacos were ok... nothing too impressive or great. Everything was good. My rating for this place should be a 3.5 but rounded up since it's been around for so long and has become a staple in the community! What was great was the vibe, decor, and outside patio with heat lamps! Plus the margaritas were great! Service was also great!

Joe T Garcia's is a Fort Worth staple. I grew up on the Dallas side of DFW, but have heard about it a lot as an adult for a great meal out. And the vibes are great! Parking is ample, nearby, and free. The patio is wonderful for groups when the weather is nice. They even have heaters if it's cooler outside.I've only been once despite these positives. As a vegetarian, there are almost no options for me. Flour tortillas, beans, rice, queso...all have meat products. They said sometimes they can make potato flautas as a meat free option, but the day we visited, they did not have the ingredients available. So my lunch was chips with melted cheese. It was fine. But not filling. Luckily, we also had margaritas and without much food, those hit hard. But they were delicious!Everyone else had a great lunch though. We enjoyed the environment and service was nice and quick. I probably won't go back unless it's just for drinks, but I get the appeal for people without dietary restrictions!

I was recommend to this famous well know very very short menu tex mex restaurant. Go early because you will have to wait in line and a big plus, they have a big parking lot. When your waiting in line, go get yourself a margarita pitcher, yeah they are expensive $50 a pitcher but maybe ask for a cheaper quality tequila? I'm not sure since my friend bought it but hey tequila vs top quality, I guess it still feels the same? Buzzed :) Once your already boozed up waiting soo long, the dining room is like an amusement park, soo beautiful, pretty, wide open spaces, the décor, it's amazing and fun. Then comes the food, very simple menu, I recommend filling up on the comped salsa and chips. Those house chips are probably the best I've had better than Gloria's, better than any Tex mex, it's a better chip. The salsa is spicy and firey, get it!! Don't get a side of guca because if your order a dinner plate, it comes with a big bowl of guca. Don't do what I did and order cheese and nachos, more like "a cheese and a nacho" a big one. It's not worth $9, hell no. Do not order it, no value at all, it's just a tostada with melted cheese and chopped jalapeños. Ingredients maybe cost .90c and they sell it for $9!? Ugh don't do it. I was too full from the margaritas so I ordered a kid plate, an enchilada and 1 taco, that was plenty for me, a perfect size. The rice was great but the refried beans, man, silky, smooth, buttery, beany, great beans. The kid taco that it comes with, nice crispy fresh lettuce based taco with pull apart beef. The dinner chicken fajita was great, same beans and rice, the fajitas was very good but the chicken was nuclear dry. It needed the beans to add more moisture and the guca, it wasn't chunks of guca but more smooth silky guca so it was nice to mix. The chicken was too dry. The flan, whoa!? Best flan I've ever had from a Tex Mex or any Mexican restaurant, the flan was full egg flavored and it was great to offense all the salty food with the sugary sweet flan.

Walked over from The Stockyard. Only a few blocks. We were craving for Tex Mex. Parking- right across the street from the restaurant. Plenty of spaces including handicap ones.Accessibility- there is a ramp that takes you to the level where all the seating is.Service- there were two lines to get in. One for outdoor seating. Another line for indoor. We only waited about 10 minutes and got seated for party of 14. The restaurant is huge. Food-everything was great so I'm only highlighting a few dishes---Nachos are good especially their Queso dip (tasted like warm comforting cream of corn soup)--Chilli Releno: full of robust flavors. The pepper was stuffed ---Enchilada Plate: they are known for their enchiladas, again great portion & flavor ---Tamales plate: I wasn't sure I would like the chili so I asked for it on the side--- Daiquiris and margaritas were blended well---two of our plates had an issue with the side of rice. Some of the rice kernels were not fully cooked. Our server immediately rectified it and brought us fully cooked rice. Souvenir: took a few of their restaurant's match boxes as keepsakesReturn Factor-Yes because getting in for large parties is good and their menu has something for everyone.

This is a cash only restaurant, so know that ahead of time - there is an ATM on site. Limited menu, but it is very, very good and the portions are great! The tortilla chips are made in house and are the best we have ever tasted. Be careful of the margaritas - they are not short on the liquor so if you are the driver be cautious about having a second one. Be prepared for a wait outside, but they move you fairly quickly - AND you can always go in and get a pitcher of margaritas to help with the wait, but remember about how potent they are.

It's a tourist trap! Don't waste your money. While the food was acceptable, the staff just did not care. They left the impression that it did not matter what the service was like for you; another sucker would show up later. There are better places to spend your hard-earned money for lunch or dinner.

Great experience of a very unique Mexican restaurant. Service was timely and friendly. Fun style for food with it almost being a family style meal with food brought out.

Joe T"s is a huge tourist trap!!! #1 The food is very, very average. The hot sauce tastes like a can of Rotel and Mexican food very bland. Another "quirk" family style service where they throw every ones dinner on an enchilada plate, bean plate etc. The drink prices are outrageous! $11.50 for small House margarita. $45.00 for a pitcher of cheap tequila and limeade. Also the only take cash, they do provide ATM's for your convenience $3.50 charge. Don't forget all the tourists so your parking feels like a mile away.
