While doing a little shopping in the Stockyards, a lady in the General Store suggested we give them a try. Great advice! I had the chicken enchilados with black beans. It was some of the best Mexican food I have had in a long time. The black beans were really good. My wife had the beef enchilados with refried beans. She reall enjoyed hers too. The service was great. If we ever go back that way we will defintely eat there again.
Great place to gather with friends. Probably a good idea to make a reservation for weekend evenings. Free parking on site but fills up on the weekends. We thought we would just grab a snack so we ordered the sampler platter. It came out on 2 large plates, could have fed 3 people easily. I recommend you have at least 4-5 in your party if you want it as an appetizer.
The food was good. Generous portions brought in minutes so much of it is preprepared. Meats were over cooked. Tasty but not spicy Mexican.
Food was excellent had the los vaqueros which included everything. Hope was our server, she was very polite. Will return
We’ve eaten at LosVaqueros many times over the last 20 years. Lately, we’ve been coming in for lunch and I always order the cheese enchilada dinner with ranchera sauce served homestyle. I thought the dish tasted on a recent visit. After the first bite A brief inspection revealed burned tortillas. Sent it back but the returning dish also had a burned enchilada. Have you hired a new cook? Also, my husband ordered the No. 11 lunch but got the No. 9. (Soup and chicken salad) which he kept because he was hungry. I don’t think we’ll be back for awhile. Might be a good idea to have the wait staff write down the orders.
AMAZING food, AMAZING staff, AMAZING set-up! Trey & his team are awesome--will definitely be using again! I have a gluten allergy and Trey was super knowledgeable. Almost everything they have, I could eat!
Trey and his group catered our company party and it was amazing!! The food was excellent and they were so fun to have at the party! I can't wait to have them back. Get the sausage and jalapeno mac & cheese!
We were celebrating my Granddaughter’s 13th Birthday, had 24 people in our party. Our table was set up short two and some male server came over we ask if we could add another table and he brought one chair over and slammed it at the end of the table and said there. I actually got up my self and slid chairs around to accommodate our other two guest. I understand it was busy being a Sat night but also understand all sat are busy, not my first time here. Our server also short and behaved as if she didn’t want to be there, maybe she had a bad day or just tired. Really it’s called customer service. Chicken enchiladas awesome but Alvacado enchilada poor, seemed as guacamole rolled up in a tortilla and some sauce poured in top.
I can’t give it zero stars, so I’ll give it 1 star for being half a block from Billy Bob’s. I’m not sure these other reviewers ate at the same restaurant I did, but this place was gross. I had chicken fajitas and I don’t think it was chicken. Bland, chewy and just looked wrong. The margarita was so gross I couldn’t drink it. My fault for getting a house margarita. The chips and salsa were good. My friend described the queso taste as Kraft Shells Mac and Cheese without the Mac. It was unpalatable. My friend had the steak fajitas and she couldn’t bring herself to eat that either. Bland, chewy and did not look like steak. They bring your food to the table on carts, not pretty carts. The plastic three tier carts that you see in a school cafeteria. Overall, I would not recommend this place. Our server was very sweet and accommodating. Loved her.
This restaurant was about a half mile walk from the Ft. Worth Stockyard's business area but it was worth it. We enjoyed some good Mexican style food. The menu had e plethora of selections that would please just about anyone. We shared a sundae after dinner that was more than enough dessert for both of us. Trip advisor came through for us on this one!

We really enjoyed the salsa. It has a nice, fresh flavor. I had the brisket tacos, which I really enjoyed! The feta cheese and pickled onions were nice on it.
My family love Los Vaqueros and have been coming here for years. We love it so much that my Brother even had his wedding reception here! It's a beautiful, historic location, filled to the brim with Texas charm. And the food...well there really is something for everyone. Meat lovers will dig the fajitas and the vegans can have some of the most well-made avocado enchiladas (and anything from the Blue Zone menu) and be very satisfied. The chips and salsa are great but those margaritas are what keeps me coming back!! The queso isn't the best here but literally everything else makes up for it. Can't wait to go back.
Other Tex-Mex venues in the Stockyards get more talk because of their beautiful surroundings, but if you want a plate of some of the best Mexican food you have ever eaten, don’t miss Los Vaqueros in the Stockyards. Their brisket tacos are to die for and I’ve never had a better salad (fresh avocado slices, feta, cilantro and a spicy, flavorful dressing). Everything is top notch - tamales, enchiladas, salsas, chips, pico, rice, beans, everything! From migas for brunch, to affordable lunch offerings to great appetizers and drinks, to signature dinner entrees, there’s a reason to eat at Los Vaqueros any time of the day. Not just the best in the Stockyards, it could be the best in Fort Worth!
I was beyond disappointed with my last experience with this restaurant. I work nearby so I try to eat here often as the food is priced fairly and the service has never been short of great. This Sunday when the charge finalized on my bill from last week I noticed that the total came out to about $45. I ate by myself and had a soup and flauta plate. During the visit I did mix the tip and total line, but I had let the waiter know of the mistake and asked for a reprint to which he replied it was fine. I thought nothing of it until the total posted. I called and spoke with the manager (name I don't remember) and the man was a j**** He said he'd fix the mistake that "I" made only after I was on hold for about 15 minutes where he was also accused me of trying to lie. "Well how do I know that's what you ordered?" Well sir don't you keep copies of receipts???? I was the victim for being overcharged by over $20, not him... I asked him why he was so rude after I had been polite throughout the situation to which he replied "Like I said I'm going to fix your mistake and refund your card my staff aren't rocket scientists." Then hung up. Never in my conversation was I accusatory towards the restaurant or rude until he got rude, and I am confused since again the mistake was on them for 1) not getting me a reprint as requested and 2) over charging me. I will never return to this location unless a formal apology is given.
The food never disappoints!!
