I found this restaurant by accident online and thought it looked really good. A few weeks later my husband and I were able to go and had the best experience.

Our server had been a regular diner here and then started working there. She was very friendly, answered questions, talked up how all the juices were made in-house etc. Wonderful service! She even inquired about allergies and when I said I had a beef allergy, she commented that she had a pork allergy! I'm always embarrassed to bring up my weird allergy but she made me feel halfway normal, lol.

We had a couple delicious cocktails each- I really enjoyed the avocado and the cucumber margaritas!- and the queso/guac combo (phenomenal), entrees and then ended with chocolate cake and café olla. Super great experience and I knew I was going to come back for brunch with a girlfriend.

Today my friend and I dined here and the experience was night and day. If this had been my first time here I would not come back.

I arrived first and was seated. When the server came around I let her know my friend was just a couple minutes away but I would start with a margarita. Friend arrived and a few minutes later our server dropped off some waters but I still hadn't gotten my cocktail. This was a precursor of how the meal would go.

I did eventually get my drink and my friend ordered hers at that time. The whole meal was a series of delays in taking orders and delivering things. We had to flag down someone else for refills on salsa, another server came by and apologized for the delay in food and she dropped it off herself a few minutes later. My friend still had not received her drink and we had to ask another passing server to please find our server. The one that dropped our food off came and got the drink details. I'm going to assume our actual server was new because her timing was terrible. She was friendly in a soft-spoken way but never acknowledged any of the issues throughout the meal. Mind you, my friend and I stayed polite and courteous to everyone we encountered and did not make fuss or say anything about the way the service was going, but I probably should have said something to management just to let them know our server was not ready to be out of training. The only drink I had this time was very good and the food was fine- it was just the service that was lacking.

I felt terrible for suggesting this restaurant to my friend as it was not a good experience. She'll never be back. I told my husband about our experience and he was shocked, as our meal had been amazing! We will probably try one more time before we will know which of the 2 experiences is going to reflect this restaurant.

So glad we found this place. The food and service were excellent. Thank you Scarlett. She answered all our question and even went and found for us what is in the salsa for the device which was delicious. This is mexican food bringing it's A game. The tamarind sauce on the salmon was great and I could eat my weight in brussels sprouts. Best I've ever eaten. Comida excelante!

Previously, I enjoyed Meso, gave them an outstanding review, and told many about it. Today, I returned after a year or so and was really disappointed. The service was good enough except for one request, the ambiance is still lovely, and the food was alright.
I ordered the chicken quesadillas which came with guacamole and a relish type side that was tasty. The quesadillas were seasoned nicely, but were a little greasy. My mojito was super weak! That’s a problem. It was watered down.
Also, when we were paying, they offered a QR code, but you have to manually input your credit card information. No thanks. Then, when I asked for a container of the sauce to go with my left overs, they wanted to charge me! I’m talking about one of those tiny containers that maybe holds a tablespoon and 1/2. What? Excuse me?! Keep your sauce. You’ll have to do better to get me to walk back in or to recommend them again.

I am a return customer and I’m so glad I did! It has been a little while since I’ve been to Meso Maya, but I have ordered the carnitas and the pozole which are both delicious! Yesterday, I tried the mole enchiladas, which are corn tortillas filled with chicken breastad are covered with a red sauce.
There are different versions of mole and I wanted to try theirs. The serverwas kind enough to bring me a “taster” and I went with it. It was the dark mole sauce which was highly sweet, but not too much. The sauce was rich in flavor and perfect in texture. The beans were good and the rice was light and fluffy. Nice!
I went during brunch, and the $3 mimosa hit the spot, especially in this heatwave we age going through in Fort Worth!
The ambiance there is dark and romantic. I'll have to go back and see why I got that impression, but it was very relaxing. The plates are beautifully Mexican and are heavy. The service was very good. Our server always smiled, checked in frequently, but did not intrude on our conversation. That was time and money well spent!

Great vibes and music. Absolutely delicious and authentic Mexican food, we have the elite, shrimp ceviche, arruchata, and salmon f which we all enjoyed. Large portions (enough to take home) and our server was very friendly. Will be back!
