Our family went to Piola on Saturday for my 60th birthday celebration. We have never been there and my college age daughter and her boyfriend made the reservation. I cannot review the food, only the service. My husband, son and I arrived first and were seated. When my daughter and her boyfriend arrived, they had a small box of cupcakes for my birthday to surprise me. Now I know that many restaurants do not allow that, but they are in college and didn’t think to check. I did not know they were bringing them. The owner was very rude to them and they put them in the car. I truly understand if that is your policy, asking them to do that and they did what the owner asked. What happened next was ridiculous. They were seated and we were there about 20 minutes and no one took our drink order. The owner then came over to me and told me how disrespectful they were and was pointing in my daughters boyfriends face, yelling and telling him to be respectful. This young man is a true gentleman and I could see the exchange before he took the cupcakes to the car and there was no disrespect at all - they were just unaware of the policy. Needless to say we got up and left and then he came out of the restaurant, telling me how sorry he was but that he cannot tolerate disrespect. The exchange continued for a minute or so, but I had no interest in talking to him and walked away. Well done to the owner of Piola for making 2 college kids feel terrible on my birthday. Shame on him! I am certain that this was not an isolated incident as he was completely obnoxious. The food may have been great but the service was beyond poor!

Authentic Italian food in a gorgeous converted home setting. The garden patio is perfect for dining al fresco on a nice evening. Food is superb.

I had heard so many great things about Piola so had high expectations, hoping this FW staple would be a strong contender against all the new establishments popping up. Our waitress was not well versed in the spirit menu and wine selections, so could not make informed suggestions when we asked. She did not share any specials with us. Food came and everything was overdone. Salmon was dry. Risotto was coagulated and reminiscent of boxed Rice-a-roni from my childhood. For the price point, it was not terrible; just not great. Had we had exceptional service, it might have been a better experience.

I travel for work and eat in lots of restaurants. Came here with my family and it was amazing. Great service, food, ambience. Hit it out of the park on all accounts! I highly recommend visiting!

We ate outside, only ones on the patio. Buzzing of kitchen exhaust fan was distracting HOWEVER, the food was absolutely AMAZING!! We had the sea bass, shrimp and asparagus risotto and chicken parm. All plates were delicious. Attention to service was extraordinary! We'll be back again when in Fort Worth:)

Nice little Italian restaurant a short way away from Camp Bowie. The menu is small but lots of classics available and the quality of food was fairly good. Wait staff were solid. The interior is cozy and visually nice but a large detriment to it is the proximity of everyone being relatively close combined with the size of the room resulting in loud background noise that doesn't lend well to a quiet experience as you need to raise your voice to hear someone speaking across the table. Overall a good place.Wheelchair accessibility: A nice ramp exists for wheelchairs to easily reach the front door. Place is all on one floor.

Husband enjoyed his beef pasta I tried pesto chicken pasta NOT a fan. Thin, small 1/2 garlic bread was 8$ most dinners around 20$. Huge wine selection (not a wine fan so can't tell you if it's a good collection) I was impressed that they confirmed my iodine allergy. Making sure nothing used would make me sick. Husband has put this on our reservation and this is the first time someone asked about it. Parking was street only and an hour only. The handicap ramp looked steep.

Such a hidden gem, I almost hate to let others know about this place for fear of it getting too busy. First of all, the service is ALWAYS great (I have been here 5 times in the past year). And the food id ALWAYS great. The star of the whole menu, in my opinion, is the giant calamari appetizer; so different from any other calamari around here. I often order that and put it on top of a Caesar salad (with anchovies added) for my entree. And our guests were so impressed last night with everything as well. And we always end things with a piece of that wonderful lemoncello cake! Thank you Piola for another great dinner!!

Sat out on patio, no decor , had to swat bugs off my dinner the entire evening. Waitress was nice enough to turn few lights off that were attracting bugs. Owner came right behind her said can't do that. Funny since we were only ones out there. This ruined our evening having bugs sitting on our dinner. I paid over $100 dollars for this . Wife and I will never return.

We frequent this restaurant regularly and have never had a less than ideal experience. Our meal and service was perfect on this visit which is their normal standard. We highly recommend getting one of the daily specials.

Wobbly table. Male hostess rude. Food got cold pretty quick on the patio. Food should be handled and served in a more effective manner to prevent this to keep food insulated from becoming cold so quickly.

Piola was not the spot I remember from a couple of years ago. Were looking for a quiet romantic dinner and it felt like we were at chain restaurant. The food was decent and the service was ok but not the top notch experience from a couple of years ago. I would recommend but not for top end romantic locale.

Great neighborhood authentic Italian . Young waitress was super nice and worked really hard. If she didn't know the answer to a question she went and found out and came back with an answer. Can't ask for anything more.

The meal and restaurant were both excellent. The only negative feedback is that the birthday mentioned on the reservation was never acknowledged. Would return. The creamy gnocchi soup was the best soup we've both ever had.
