Every take-out order has been absolutely delicious for me. Ive never had a hiccup with ordering or service. Staff is so pleasant & efficient. Legit, i don't even bother with any other places for takeout anymore.

Fantastic flavors, great experience—can’t wait to go back

I recently ordered takeout from Szechuan Chinese Restaurant and it completely exceeded my expectations. I tried their cheese wontons and Tung Ting beef, both of which were outstanding. The cheese wontons were crispy outside and melty inside—perfect texture and flavor. The Tung Ting beef was tender with a bold punch of Szechuan spice, just right without being overwhelming.

Everything was packed well for takeout, and the quality held up during the drive. Based on this experience alone, I’m very excited to return for dine-in—can’t wait to soak up the full ambience and try more from the menu.

Highly recommend this spot!

Nasty! Felt like I was in a school cafeteria. Went for lunch. They gave us a limited lunch menu. Ordered 2 sprites to drink while we ordered. The smell and poor choices made us get up and leave. I asked for a to go cup for our sodas. Then went to pay for them. They charged us $6.50 for 2 sprites. Then the host got snotty with me when I questioned the dish water they gave us. I have been to the one on Bryant Irving. That one is wonderful. This place was so bad I bet people could eat trash & I bet it would be better then this place. This is a definite NO GO! To all the people who trust and like my reviews. Please avoid this place at all costs. They are horrible!

Stopped here on a whim one Friday night, and I'll admit, I've never heard of it before. I loved the ambiance inside and its super well decorated. The food was pretty good, but I'm effectively calling it upscale Panda Express. There were many things I was sad to see missing from their menu. No real dumplings or anything. It felt a little generic. But! It was pretty good. I could tell it was fresh and all handmade. The ginger chicken had huge slices of ginger in it that made the dish really pop.

Traditional menu with many entrees to choose from. The server was so, so nice. Always a calm, relaxing atmosphere.

Little restaurant with a good atmosphere. The food was not very good. I would go again if in the area to give it a second chance only after considering other places.

Food was okay but service was better! Tommy was our server and he provided excellent service. Our experience was better because Tommy took care of us.

You get a lot of food for what you pay for.

Food here is really good and priced fairly. It's a good value. The decor is a bit dated... in 5-10 more years it will be retro.

All around good experience. The decor and setting were a bit old and tired but I think that's part of the charm. Nothing pretentious, just a nice wholesome place for a reasonable price.

This restaurant is a textbook example of 1). A Fort Worth institution, on the scale of Joe T. Garcia's, and 2). obviously a place that won't pay the Yelp extortion. But, to the food, before I explain.

I started eating here over 40 years ago, not long after they opened. My boss at NTSU Health Sciences up Camp Bumpy a ways had to eat here for lunch at least once a week, I would go along, and I was hooked. I ate there last week. I can tell you the food has not changed one iota. I use a number of their preparations as the gold standard when I am cooking those dishes. This the thinking person's Szechuan Cuisine, even though it's not 100% authentic, because the differences are down to creative inspiration, and, by and large, I think it works. I definitely appreciate the attitude.

So, to the negative reviews you might have seen...they have a very predictable ring/pattern to them. First, Szechuan's listing on Yelp has the "other nearby suggestions" listed ahead of what you actually searched for, which is a dead give-away that the people you searched for aren't paying the extortion. Then, there's the negative reviews. The always go right to the heart of either what people fear or what their restaurant can't deliver. Some try to act like they have inside information, like "so-and-so had the day off; maybe that's why it was so bad". Yeah, it's just a plausible way of lying and saying, "It was bad". And you almost never seen fair-to-middling assessments. Right. 90% of the people that eat there give it a 4 or 5, but the ones that don't like it all give it a 1. Maybe three just isn't popular. Bollocks. It's totally contrived. What a bunch of oxygen theives. Try to run down a citiy's venerable establishment because they won't buy advertising from you.
