We hosted our rehearsal dinner for our wedding at the Back Room and had a great time. Samantha was very helpful in setting everything up and working with us to make sure we and our guests were well taken care of. They even helped us get pizzas that worked for our guests' dietary needs. We had a party of 28 and it was plenty of space for us without feeling crowded, but we were all able to be in the same space together and celebrate. If you're looking for a place to host a get together or dinner/celebration, this is one I recommend!

Funky Picnic has tasty beers and delicious food. My favorite beers are Funny Accent (Mild ale), What is A Weekend (Earl Grey sour ale), and any smoked beers they make. Foodwise, the restaurant has delicious burgers and the adjoining 21+ spot, The Back Room, has great cocktails, stronger ABV beers and scrumptious pizza. Do go try them out!

My husband and I came here for a night out. They have a big ‘Black Lives Matter’ on the entrance window. On it’s own, I don't have an issue with it. But inside it wasn’t the only political view on display. Sat down and ordered a beer and food. Went to the bathroom where there were rainbow signs and free tampons for anyone ‘regardless of the gender you were born with’. There were also advertisements for weekly drag shows. While the food was OK, the environment was very political. I will not be back.

Our wedding reception was hosted at the Back Room and it went off without a hitch! All the bartenders/servers were incredible and our guests loved the food and atmosphere! It was exactly what we wanted and we could not be happier! Super affordable, the right amount of space for our 60 guests and delicious!

What a treasure! Had lunch there yesterday before hitting the Artfest, and fell in love with the place! Service, food, and atmosphere were all a home run! Enjoyed that the roll up doors were open and it was like being on a patio. Wait person was friendly and helpful. Food was delicious, and the menu creative to say the least! This is a place I will be visiting again and often! Check it out, you wont be disappointed!

We visited the Back Room at Funky Picnic to try out their wood fired pizzas and drinks. The name “Back Room” is an apt description as the entire restaurant is literally one small long room. The combination of bar seating and table/booth combinations made for a very intimate setting with a few electric fireplaces flickering along the walls on cold evenings.Order: We ordered the Spinach Dip, a Cheese Pizza and Beer combination special called ‘An Offer You Can’t Refuse’, a Sazerac and an Old Fashioned. The Spinach Dip arrived semi warm with pizza dough as the dipping bread - something I wish I would’ve known prior to ordering as we were expecting crusty bread and were already having pizza for dinner. The dip wasn’t very warm, but it was tasty. The pizza arrived about 15 minutes later with the wood fired crust and melty mozzarella cheese served with Parmesan and Crushed Res Pepper shakers. It was very hot and delicious with the slightly charred thin crust and tomato sauce base. My husband enjoyed his Old Fashioned which arrived with an orange peel segment for garnish.Pros: Seating yourself is always a plus and we were able to sit in the couch at the back - very cozy! The pizza was really good and the smaller scaled more intimate setting was nice. There were probably a total of about 40 seats inside, including the bar stools along the bar area as well as patio seating for warmer weather. The restaurant had lots of mixed drink offerings and includes a full bar.Cons: The dip arrived lukewarm which made it hard to spread the dip on the pizza bread. The menu should note that the Hummus and Spinach Dip appetizers both arrive with plain pizza dough triangles for the bread component. The combination special found on the online menu, ‘An Offer You Can’t Refuse’, was listed at $13.00, but was rung up separately on our bill at $17.00 and we didn’t catch their error until we were already home. If ordering a special combo item, double check your receipt to make sure you were charged accordingly. The The Funky Picnic parking lot is always full, so we parked on the street which gets very crowded on the weekends. Arrive 15 - 20 minutes early to find a parking space. We probably won’t be back as there are much better pizza options available in the immediate area where the food arrives hot and the bill arrives for the correct amount. Rating: 3 out of 5

We ended up at the Back Room of Funky Picnic on a Sunday evening when the main restaurant was closed for the night. Absolutely wonderful service! Great selection of drinks! And the pizza was delicious - and just the right size for an evening snack! Their patio is dog-friendly, and our pups loved the special attention!

Entrance on Bryan Ave across Roots coffee.I went on a Thursday for the day Buy a bottle of wine, get a free pizza deal but ended up getting cocktails and a pizza for about the same price. The asparagus mushroom pizza was really good even the couple next to us asked what it was because it looked so good. I wish i got pictures! It was pretty busy and a loud environment for a Thursday but service was quick.

Getting to the place was a little weird but the food was amazing and the on site brewery had a great selection of beers. I had the “Nothing is Impastable” w/added chicken and it was delicious. I tried 2 beer flights and all the beers were very flavorable and delicious. My favorite was the Vibes German Lager. The staff was amazing and can easily suggest food/drink recommendations based on your needs. Friendly and fast service.

First time trying their food, ordered delivery. Hella stingy with the toppings. Even ordered this with extra soppressata. It'a basically a cheese pizza. Also only gave 1 packet of parm and peppers... not sure if I'd go back.
