Funny, how they talk about bullies and not putting up with them. First time in and the bartender wasn't having a good night and customers felt entitled to their opinions that included "assault". I came in trying to have a good time for a friend's birthday and saw they had Jamo Cold Brew. Bartender couldn't suggest a drink with the lesser-carried Jameson, other than "people like it", then mistakenly pours two drinks and snatches/spills one across the bar when told it wasn't needed. He chilled out later. Later, LGBT patron slaps gentleman across the back after having the shirt bought off his back and say what HE is doing is illegal. Dude came out of nowhere to express his thoughts with unnecessary actions. Just keep your hands off of other people. Just my experience. No one came in with ill-intentions and it wasn't the best of experiences. Will give it another shot. Not anytime soon.

The Boiled Owl is a favorite dive bar of ours when we are near the Magnolia area. It's everything you want for your local spot, with good prices, a pool table, and plenty of seating. They also have a decent patio, with a handful of tables.

Doorman name "drago"? Not sure his name but he kicked out my friend for simply having a bowel movement in the bathroom. After knocking on the stall and harassing him asking him various questions. He suspected drug use. But after the person was done, told him to leave. This guy needs counseling.

Drinks and atmosphere is great but the bartender is a giant douche for no reason. We gave a tip of at least 100 in tips too... never coming back again. Everytime he game me a drink he slammed it down and looked like he was about to fight me..

Really rating this primarily for the MONDAY NIGHT KARAOKE. But Cody at the bar was a good & efficient Bartender. You can "bring in food" (several options on the same street), but they offer nothing but chips & slim-jims. Still, a very relaxed place, w/ a younger eclectic crowd, ABOVE AVERAGE SOUND SYSTEM and terrific host! You will get in 3-4 songs all night (if lucky). Good solid 4 (could be a 5 if they had decent food and a waitress or 2). BTW, terrific patio. I'll be back! First few singers win a free well drink... starts about 9:30

My husband and I love the Boiled Owl. We come here every chance we get since we don't have anything this cool in North FW. We love the music, vibe and inclusivity. We also collect their fun, unique t-shirts. Bartenders are fast and friendly. Door staff has always been friendly and fun. We've never had a bad experience and no reason to think we ever will.

I went with a group of friends and before we left the bartender pressured and bullied my friend into leaving a tip on his card when he had already left a cash tip on the table. He was very agressive. It was very rude and we left feeling very disrespected and uncomfortable. Will not be returning.
