About The Kimbell Café

The Kimbell Café is a charming spot to relax and refuel during a visit to the Kimbell Art Museum. Located within the museum, the café offers a lovely High Tea experience with a delicious selection of teas and food at a reasonable price of $35 for two. Visitors can enjoy their tea in an elegant atmosphere before or after exploring the museum's impressive collection of art from around the world, including east Asia, India, and Europe. The museum itself is free to visit, with the exception of special exhibits, and features two majestic buildings with a spacious layout that allows for a comfortable and leisurely visit.

Guests have praised the café for its tasty offerings, such as chicken salad, which some describe as a must-try, and a variety of quiches that change daily, including Mushroom and Fontina. The café also provides a selection of soups and sandwiches, along with a top-notch little salad bar. Meals include drinks and a small homemade cookie, with today's treat being a chewy chocolate cookie. The staff are friendly and courteous, contributing to a pleasant dining experience. The café’s clean environment and the museum’s free parking make it a convenient place for a relaxing break. Visitors appreciate the impressive collection of older art, like renaissance-era pieces, and the overall atmosphere, enjoyed by both an older crowd and artsy young fans alike. Many express a desire to return frequently, highlighting the café as a true treasure.

One of my favorite places. I love to just wander around the exhibits, but the events are always fabulous. We tried the tea service for the first time today and it was so good. We’re lucky to have this treasure in our own backyard.
