It was amazing it was my first time being there and I throughly enjoyed myself! I would recommend anyone who hasn’t gone take a visit there or if you’re passing through in the area check it out! 10/10 experience.

I was really impressed by this zoo, you are able to see everything in a short period of time. There was lots of picnic tables and you can bring your own food in it seemed? the food options for purchase are very affordable too.

Came to this zoo while visiting. Had planned on going to Dallas zoo but people who live in Dallas said it is sad and don't go to it (reviews on Yelp also recommended this).Sadly we got to the zoo about 2pm and they close at 4pm so we did not have a lot of time to see the animals. We saw just about everything while we were there though. It is a super cute zoo and has a whole area dedicated to Texas.Admission was reasonable, they had the pressed penny machines (which my kid loves), staff were friendly. It didn't seem super crowded when we were there. It wasn't too cold but there were a good bit of animals we did not see (they were inside) but the animals we did get to see we saw them. The mountain lion was so close compared to how we see it at our zoo so that was neat. We saw a vulture doing what vultures do and had to walk carefully to avoid being dropped on.I really enjoyed the thought that was put into the design of the exhibits and themes. The texas area has an area that looks like an old school downtown main street (from a western). The area where you can pet water creatures was in a boat. The animals all look well taken care of.Stopped at the gift shop outside the zoo to grab a pressed penny book and magnet and while it was crowded the lines went fast.Parking was reasonable $5 and admission for adults was $20 and $16 for kids. We just walked up and bought tickets there.Overall glad I made it here to see a different zoo (for some reason I really enjoy zoos but my husband does not). If I were in the area I would come back and have more time to spend looking at animals (any maybe in warmer weather)!

The Fort Worth Zoo is an absolute gem! I recently had the pleasure of visiting, and I can't say enough good things about this place. From the moment you step inside, you're transported into a world of wonder and amazement. The variety of animals they have here is astounding, and it's clear that they are well-cared for and loved by the dedicated staff. It's not just about seeing the animals; it's about learning, conservation, and appreciation for the incredible diversity of our planet's wildlife. The exhibits are beautifully designed, and you can tell that a lot of thought has gone into creating environments that mimic the animals' natural habitats. The African Savannah exhibit, in particular, was a highlight for me. Watching the majestic elephants, graceful giraffes, and playful zebras roam freely was a surreal experience. The Fort Worth Zoo isn't just a place for kids; it's a place for people of all ages to connect with nature and be inspired. Whether you're a wildlife enthusiast, a family looking for a fun day out, or someone who appreciates the importance of conservation, this zoo has something for everyone. In summary, The Fort Worth Zoo has earned its reputation as one of the best zoos in the country for its exceptional commitment to treating animals with the utmost care and respect. With a focus on animal welfare and conservation, this zoo goes above and beyond to provide spacious, naturalistic habitats that mimic the animals' native environments. The dedicated team of caregivers and experts ensures that every resident animal receives top-notch medical care, nutrition, and enrichment to thrive. Their strong emphasis on education and conservation programs underscores their dedication to not only providing a home for these incredible creatures but also inspiring visitors to join in the efforts to protect and preserve wildlife for future generations. When it comes to setting the gold standard for ethical and compassionate treatment of animals, the Fort Worth Zoo stands out as a shining example!

Loved the zoo here in Ft Worth. It was a last minute trip so, we only spent a couple hours inside. Definitely we'll come back again because we didn't experience all the parts. What we did see was what you'd expect from a proper zoo. This zoo has plenty of attractions for everyone and when the weather is nice, it's beautiful. Must see and would recommend to everyone who comes to Dallas Ft Worth area.

The Fort Worth zoo has been one of our favorite outings as a family and field trips with the school. We love seeing the animals in their natural habitat as this zoo continues to improve all exhibits. Every exhibit has a plaque to explain interesting facts about the animal and some let you feed the animal. There's a petting zoo that's a favorite among small children and big kids like me, they also have a fun playground area for kids to run around in. They have a train that goes from one end of the zoo to the other for a fee. During the summer months you can cool off at the splash park (admission required). They also have plenty of bathrooms, an area for nursing moms and eateries. It's Texas which means hot weather so there's misters throughout the park to help keep you cool. There's something for everyone to have a fabulous time.

BEST ZOO I've ever been to!! I took a vacation to Dallas to see my family and grandkids. And we decided to take them to the Fort Worth Zoo since none of them had been there before. They said it was the best zoo and they had so much fun. If you buy online it's $1 off per ticket, if you go on Wednesday it's half off. We paid full price and that was fine considering they don't charge for you to bring a cooler in to eat lunch. We was there almost 6hrs and I'm pretty sure we didn't see everything. Lots of walking and they have misting stations so you can cool down. We filled up our waters every chance we got. Those are located at the restrooms by the way. I highly recommend going to this zoo over any other local one to DFW.

Cashier went to the back without taking my order and had me waiting for 15 minutes! There was 2 windows and the other window was just filled with people complaining about how slow the service was. Very frustrating experience, rather not eat here at the zoo.

My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary by having a DFW "staycation." Instead of going on a trip, we decided to play tourist in our hometown of Fort Worth. On the top of our "must-visits" was the Fort Worth Zoo, one of the top zoos in the United States. Why was it on the top of our list? Back in 1989, we went on our first date to the Fort Worth Zoo.We picked out a perfect day for our visit, the weather was beautiful and there was a gentle breeze blowing. It couldn't have been nicer. The zoo also wasn't too crowded during our visit. There were the busloads of students but there were all well behaved and orderly. Before or visit, we rejoined the zoo to support it. We like supporting our local organizations. A plus to be a member, free parking and admission plus invites for member only events. We walked around the zoo looking at all the sights marveling how it had changed since the last time we were here. Sad to say we hadn't been back in a very long time but now with our memberships that'll definitely change. We had a delightful meal at the CROCODILE CAFE. My wife ordered the chicken sandwich with fries and I decided on the bacon cheeseburger with tots. We loved the idea of being able to purchase the "refillable" cups that could be sed on our next visit. Both of our sandwiches was so delicious. My wife said her chicken sandwich was very yummy and moist to the bite. Chicken sandwiches can dry out so easily if they're overcooked. I loved my bacon cheeseburger, the BBQ sauce they had on it was the perfect touch and made the burger very tasty.Thank you Fort Worth Zoo for a wonderful afternoon and a delicious snack and the Crocodile Cafe. We'll be back again soon.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the zoo. This park has a lot of exhibits and was the park was fairly clean. The food was decent park good priced accordingly but I did appreciate that you can bring in your own lunch if you wanted. They had a couple designated picnic areas that I thought were nice and secluded if you wanted to make those plans. Security was seen throughout the park to ensure safety. Lastly there is a lot of free parking areas that weren't that far of a walk from the main entrance.

This is a really great zoo. If not simply for the view and vegetation coverage, it's very decorative and inviting. The zoo is very linear, as you enter in you can go left or right, the left end for the most part dead ends and you walk back the same way you came. If you save the buildings for after that, it'll give you something else to view on the way back. The Childs play area is also on the left end and there's is also a water park right at the entrance, the pathway is there, but the water park is hidden behind the large trees and bamboo. To the right, it does more of a loop, follow the lower path and you can come back on the upper path, tho as some point, you do pass through a path you've already been on. Again, it's a linear zoo and not one with a big flowing loop. Now, this is packed into a small space amounts neighborhoods, a river, a large park, and a major university, so to get all of that in such a tight space is understandable. Tho you'll need to watch the map and signs or you'll miss stuff as there isn't really a good flow, you will do some backtracking from time to time. The exhibits, this I have to give an A+ because each viewing area is either shaded by a manmade cover that looks like a tiki/safari hut or shaded by trees, AND, there are multiple viewing areas at almost every exhibit. That's nice since everyone visiting doesn't have to cram into the same tight space to see the kangaroos, apes, etc. A few items the Ft Worth zoo can stake claim to that only a few other zoos can is that they have a rare type of alligator and ape, the ape is a Bobono, and evidently this location has 1/10th of the Bobono population. Interesting fact. The gator/croc is some some odd needle nose looking specimen, very cool. Another plus is there are scattered amongst the zoo a LOT of sitting areas off the main paths with restaurants and snack stations as well as a lot of bathrooms. One thing I did notice is the majority of the outdoor animals are medium to small creatures. There isn't much if any of the larger animals from other countries that I've seen at other zoos, Elk, Antelope, Water buffalo, Wildebeests, Polar bears, Grizzly bears, Moose, Reindeer, Pandas, even some of the smaller ones like foxes, jaguars, cheetahs, lions, etc. Granted, they are constructing a new cat predator location, tho if they already have them, why aren't they still on display? Overall, I can see why this is rated as one of the top rated zoos as it's an immersive experience with all of the vegetation and how it all looks so pretty.

Solid zoo! Really enjoyed it. It's small but it's not crazy expensive. Great animals and well designed!Make sure to bring your walking shoes!

It's the zoo!!! Let's start with some of the negatives: Some of the exhibits were closed for remodeling (lions and such). There were a crazy amount of bees (unsure if there is anything they can do about that. The penguin display smelled horrible. The area where the reptiles are was hit with no circulation. However it's the zoo... and it was a nice day to be there. There were so many people but I feel like we were able to see so much!
