It wasn't what I expected 😑
We ordered chicken and it was black, I want to think it was pork. Prices on Google menu are different from the menu , On the receipt the prices are different too.
....Of course I won't be back, I brought the takeout for the street cats, and of course I ate my food, if you noticed my children didn't, and if your prices are on the menu check it out, and again yes I will NOT return... And of course McDonald's is better than your restaurant ✌️

This is an out of the way place that deserves more attention! My son & I decided to try it after reading previous reviews & seeing how good the menu sounded, and Chef Sammy didn't disappoint! The peach pork chop was delicious as was the captain crunch chicken poboy, and the banana cookie pudding was the perfect end to the meal.
Small restaurant with limited tables but a good vibe & great people - this is a fantastic family business to support!

This was my first time in this area, and we were looking for some good soul food. What we found was exceptional food and outstanding service. I told my buddy that the man in that kitchen isn't just a cook. He's a real chef! You can tell he really takes pride in what he serves his customers.

Lived around here a few years and stumbled across this place. Absolutely dynamite. Not a huge place, but the food and service quality is outstanding.

I ordered the catfish basket, but unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The fish had been re-dipped and overcooked to the point of being burnt, and it lacked seasoning. The fries weren’t much better.

On top of that, the atmosphere was uncomfortable due to the owner’s conversation, which I overheard. He was openly discussing how he struggles to keep employees and made negative remarks about people choosing illegal activities over work. That’s not the kind of discussion to have within earshot of customers—especially since you never know who might be listening, including community leaders or potential patrons.

They did not have any ketchup or hot sauce packs for their take out orders.

Overall, the experience left a lot to be desired, both in terms of food and professionalism. I will not be returning.
