Amazing little Japanese restaurant. Finally got to eat lunch here and wasn't disappointed. Ordered a bunch of small plates and am happy to report they are properly sized plates. Not too small, not too big. Just enough to share a bunch of them with another person or order 1-2 of if you're not that hungry. Recommend the Okonomiyaki and Bao. I will come back another time to try the ramen/sushi/entrees.

The worst thing about this place is the parking. VERY small lot and limited street parking available. Be prepared to park across the street and walk. Highly advise carpooling or rideshare/taxi/bike.

Cute little sushi bar in back corner if that's all you want to order and can sit by yourself on a stool. Front seating area is bright with lots of fun windows and lanterns. Parties larger than 4 will need a reservation, but even just 2 people will need to wait a little at lunch/dinner. Should call ahead to check wait times if you don't want to wait. There are 4 slat benches for waiting inside. Single room toilets only.

Artfully designed restaurant, beautifully presented and delicious Japanese cuisine, and excellent friendly service from Suzanne!
Worth multiple visits to try the rest of their menu.

Great Building and Atmosphere. The our wait staff was super friendly and the Tok Fries were really good! The Crunchy Rolls were good. The Smoked Salmon Nigiri's flavor was very sublte, almost hard to taste honestly.

Hit 30 min passed my pickup time and the green turtle neck wearing “manager?” had some sort of ego thing going on when he told me I had to wait. Originally told me 5-10 min… I waited. 10 min go by, nothing… comes by around 15 min later saying it was almost done. I waited… min 25 approaches he says they are packing it up now. I waited… 30min marker hit and I had had it. Canceled the order and he gave me a bit of a stink eye when I informed him I would let another driver pick up the order. I’ll avoid this place like the plague from now on. Incredibly unprofessional.

Will never ever come back. May as well eat Pei Wei and get a similar experience, I’m not exaggerating. I’ve eaten at tons of Japanese places and I’m Asian. I swear it used to be way better and have a better menu! Most of the appetizers weren’t even Japanese and the rice bowls are only teriyaki. The most basic of basics… Nothing on their menu is special except the Tokonomiyaki and Tok Fries which are decent. The yakisoba seems more interesting but it isn’t. Not salted enough and not enough flavor. The cooks don’t care, you can tell. The tuna tower was also so basic like any other place. At least they have a good beer and sake selection. The decor is nice overall, but they got rid of the manga they had on shelves and plastered it on the bathroom walls instead… Not worth $50 for two!! Shinjuku Station was way better and they shut down and this place somehow still stands…

Picked up a huge to-go order last night from Tokyo Cafe last night for a birthday dinner. Order was 16 items, 13 different items. We were given about an hour estimate via online ordering and it was very accurate. We showed up a few minutes before our ETA. I asked the manager to double check the order due to the size and he graciously instructed the kitchen to double check. All of our hot food were in one bag and the cold in another bag, which was a great touch and shows attention to small details. Our order was complete, hot & cold as intended and delicious. There were plenty of utensils and condiments (soy, wasabi, etc.) included.

This was probably the largest online order I have ever placed and was very impressed that it was well executed and delicious (as usual). Great job!

Overall, pretty tasty, but some things lacked salt and depth of flavor. Although, their chili oil/vinegar brought a ton of flavor to my Yakisoba. The portions were small(er), but the staff were amazingly kind and attentive. I only come about once a year, but always leave satisfied.

The place is super cute, upon arrival the hostess asked if we could be out by 1:15 lol I said that depends on you guys. My Miso soup was awful the broth was good but tofu crumbled because it was hard and mushrooms were hard. When the food was brought out my daughter compared it to Pei Wei. It's just a miss for me. I ordered a beef rice bowl and all thought it was flavorful it was a bit salty.

really beautiful and cutesy place, but the proportions on the sushi are way off, theyre like quarter sized peices, it was good but the proportions shocked me, definitely would work for someone whos new to sushi, like sample size, service was okay, slow but understandable since it was a little packed when we arrived, but still very polite. little pricey for sample sized sushi, but the strawberry mochi dessert thing was so yummy

We’ve been wanting to try this place and it was a great experience, from the Asian decor to the welcoming atmosphere to the food. We got the Shumai to start off and it was pretty good. I suggest having the sauce on the side if you’re not into really spicy things. My friend got the beef bowl and it was delish. The beef was perfectly seasoned and the sauce had a great flavor. You don’t get much protein, so next time he wants to order it with extra meat. I got the west side Ramen which was yummy. The broth was ok, but the noodles were good and plenty. I got the pork loin since I always get the pork belly, so it wasn’t as flavorful. Overall it was good, but I’ve had better. Definitely a place to try if you’re in the area and/or want to eat good food.
