Tasty food, good service, pleasant atmosphere. This is one of our regular spots for lunch. We've had many of the items on the lunch/brunch menu.
The only item we wouldn't order again was the shrimp and grits, Cajun spiced. Too much spice for our taste, and too little grits. But plenty of delicious shrimp.
Fantastic venue in and out!!
Good times !
This place was fair at best. Everyone we encountered who worked here was very odd, not very welcoming, and awkward. We were even asked why we were there when walking up to the front door.
Although the lower basement bar is well designed and a great ambiance, the smell of sewage immediately hit us in the nose as we walked down the stairs. They also had basketball on the big screen which completely offsets the rest of the ambiance. Their beers were limited from their actual menu with low variety.
Not impressed, did not feel welcome, and unsure we’ll ever come back.
What a great experience! We were about 10 miles out out of Fredericksburg and saw the Alstadt. We dropped in for lunch. It was like we stepped into Germany. The staff was great, the food was great, and it is a beautiful establishment. They even have an antique tractor museum. That is free! I highly recommend it.
Drinks were great, but appetizers were a bit disappointing today.

Great bar bites and pours, and even better Beer Hall menu. Plan on spending a little time here — it’s worth it.
Came here with my family (kid friendly) for lunch during our visit to Fredricksburg. Beautiful inside and out. The food was delicious and the girls loved the tractor museum.
Food was good and high quality. Portions were reasonable but not large. $10 for one small pretzel seems a bit high to me for an appetizer. I ordered the smorgasbord which I enjoyed and split with another. Spicy pickles were delicious!
Their beers are crisp and fresh. Great ambience to enjoy with friends/beer. Nice facility to see around.
The chicken schnitzel was excellent—beautifully prepared, flavorful, and reminiscent of a German-style chicken parmesan. The overall quality of the food was commendable, and the decor contributed to a pleasant and inviting dining environment.
That said, the service was notably slow, which detracted from an otherwise enjoyable experience. With improved efficiency in service, this restaurant has the potential to deliver a truly outstanding visit.
