Our go to place when we visit. Not a large selection of bier, but the food is amazing. Had another wonderful waiter our last visit.Kid-friendliness: Mac and cheese was a hit with all our kids.

Very hectic day it seems when we visited. Our waitress wasn't terrible, but definitely not great either. There was a pretty big gap in time from when she served us and when she checked back in. We were done with our food and wanted dessert. My wife and I both had time enough after we finished our food to stand in line at the restroom and go and return with our waitress still not having checked on us (we took turns). The food was good, but definitely not some of the best German food I've had in Texas. I had the Jägerschnitzel and my wife had the German Meatballs. The schnitzel was good, but the sides were pretty bland. The meatballs were good, but the spaetzle was not good at all. Apple strudel was cold and lacked flavor. Beer was nice and cold.

While I am sympathetic about the difficulty of running a restaurant in these times, my experience today was hard to understand. I ordered a grilled pork chop. Look at my picture. I’m not even sure I’d call that a cutlet. The “German” potato salad was meh, and the red cabbage was one step up from meh.

Great place for authentic German food. The pork chop was great. Reuben sandwich was really good, too. The local German beers were also great. Open air seating in the beer garden was very pleasant on a nice day in the spring.

We visited this adorable town last year and had the luxury of stopping by this restaurant for a second time this year. It is a great family restaurant serving delicious food. I had the ruebin sandwich. It had loads of corned beef and was very flavorful. The peach bellini is good. Reasonable pricing and nice wait staff. If you go, save room for the apple strudel. It is out of this world!

Fun because you want German in Fredericksburg, however, I do not feel they try at all.
