Atmosphere kind of old timey, but hands down some of the best German food in Fredricksburg. I almost hate leaving a review because if more people find out about this place, I am going to have to wait longer for a table.

The services was perfect, because nobody was in the restaurant. The food was awful! The mash potatoes smell like was old for days.. I can’t event try.

Could use some German folk music to enhance the dining experience.

It seems that the current wine trend has had and effect changing the restaurant scene. I was looking for good German food which has been a challenge to my surprise in Fredricksburg. Der Lindenbaum is the best I have found and if you have your taste buds set for German food, this is the place to go.

Der Lindenbaum is the sole reason we drive 3 hours to Fredericksburg. It reminds me of Germany, not the tourist side no, real down home Germany.

Good German restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere. Feels like you're eating in someone's home. The staff were friendly, but there weren't very many so it took a while to get seated. Air conditioning and clean tables!
Ordered the pork cutlets and it was so good. The breading was very light and the potato salad was great. Will definitely be back!

I don't post but I really enjoyed the meal. The bread was warm, the mushroom sauce was flavorful, my friend said the red cabbage was sweet and tasty, and dessert was Devine. More people should try this place.

There is nothing authentic here. There was literally no flavor in any of the food. The only way you knew it was pork because of the texture. The red cabbage was drenched in sugar and you couldn't even have an enjoyable atmosphere with the two Mexican workers in the back doing non stop chatter.
