Abbie was wonderful with showing wonderful variety of wine. Lucy rose was my favorite
Nice staff. Greeted with a glass of sparkling wine. The "museum" has 5 cars and a motorcycle. The seating area outside is cute. They only have California wines. If we'd realized that prior to coming in, we'd have gone elsewhere. Since we were there, we had a glass of wine. They were out of the whites so I had the Lucy rose. It was ok. My husband had the meritage and said it was mediocre at best.
No Texan wines. All California vintages, which means I am not returning. Sampled some to be polite & found them mediocre.
Cars were cool & service good, hence 3 stars vice a one star review.
You must do the Winemaking Class with Chris. Absolutely fabulous. You try their blend and then get 2 "trials" to make your own blend and leave with your own bottle of wine. So much fun.
It’s a really nice venue, and they do a nice job celebrating the racing history. If you’re visiting mainly for wine though I would not recommend this place. We tried all of the reds and none were exceptional having just been to Napa.
We came here a year ago and told all our friends and family. It was different with amazing California wine. Like many Fredericksburg wineries they have jumped the shark. When we arrived they offered a taste of a sparkling wine. They failed to mention it was a “complimentary” taste that actually counted towards one of your tastes for your 40 DOLLAR tasting fee. We dont like sparkling wines and never would have chosen it. Yet, it counted as 1/6 of our tasting fee. The wine was ok… not worth $40, the most expensive tasting fee we paid ALL weekend. Not worth it and VERY disappointing given that we drove from Dallas to visit. Avoid this place and let them know that their tasting is WAY too expensive and that tasting involves choice. No tasting fee was actually posted and no menu to choose from… Don't choose a cheap sparkling wine for your customers and not divulge said choice. Very sad, will NEVER go back.
Great wines and tasting room. Appreciate the opportunity to enjoy Napa and Sonoma wines in Texas Hill Country tied to racing legend Super Tex AJ Foyt! Museum with his racing cars, photos and trophies just adds to the experience.
Great experience with knowledgeable people.
A Winemaker's Dream Experience at Foyt Winery
I had the pleasure of visiting Foyt Winery for a wine tasting and wine making class, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Located in the scenic Fredericksburg countryside, Foyt Winery exudes charm and elegance, setting the stage for a perfect day of indulging in fine wines and learning the art of winemaking.
Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff who guided us through the tasting room, showcasing a wide selection of their exquisite wines. Each sip was a delight to the senses, showcasing the craftsmanship and dedication that goes into every bottle produced at Foyt Winery. The staff's knowledge and passion for winemaking shone through as they shared fascinating insights about the winemaking process and the unique characteristics of each wine we sampled.
The highlight of the day was the wine making class, where we got hands-on experience in crafting our own blend under the guidance of the talented Shania.
Free to horrible "museum", with purchase. I should've just used my family's purchase. Worst $20 I ever spent. 4 cars and one bike... see photos, that it...

Such a fun experience! If you love a gear head, take them here and get a tasting!
A.J. Foyt's Winery and Museum deserves more than 5 stars!!! I'm visiting from North Carolina (NASCAR Central!!!) I love wines and also drive for a wine tour company! My friends decided to take me to Fredericksburg for lunch and wine tastings! As we drove past Foyt's winery, I got very excited! I said "A J. Foyt has a winery! Can we stop here please?" As we drove in, I realized there was a museum also! I could not get out of that car fast enough once we parked!
As we got to the entrance of the winery, a very nice young gentleman handed us a small glass of wine!!! Loved the wine! Loved the outside views and thankfully we had a beautiful day!
1st Pit Stop: As I went into the museum, I felt like a kid again, watching NASCAR races every Sunday with my dad!
2nd Pit Stop: The tasting room and small gift shop. I loved the labels on the wine bottles! I really enjoyed the The Final Lap Dessert Wine! The aroma and notes of this wine were absolutely amazing!
Checkered Flag: All of the staff on April 28th, were very friendly, professional, helpful and went above and beyond!!! We really enjoyed talking with them!!!!
I'm hoping in the near future to come back to Texas again and visit Foyt's Winery and Museum in Fredericksburg!!
We spent time during the 2024 solar eclipse at this place, and it was incredible. Excellent views, hanging areas, and bar, and the staff is what made it great. Some of the friendliest, down to earth people that we’ve ever met at a business like this. The museum had historic cars that you will never see anywhere else, that were driven by legends of racing. The golfing in the back was great touch, as well as the racing simulator, and games all around the place. The Foyt wine was top notch, and went down just a bit too smooth for our own good. Totally recommend to anyone venturing through the hill country. We will be back.
10/5 STARS!! Amazing winery, great wine, food, and service. From the beginning of my experience Steven was very kind and attentive. The venue was very clean and well designed. The owner and his family are very sweet and personable people. I highly recommend this winery to anyone looking to make great connections and memories here!
John Martin is all I can say! We are huge wine enthusiasts and have many memberships in the area. But never have we encountered someone as amazing as John Martin. This wine was also my incredibly good! Loved everything about this place!
