The place was closed after reading good reviews for the place I drove out of the way and found the building closed. Don't waste your time driving from there to see a locked gate.

We were excited to try this remote restaurant out only to find out when we arrived it was closed and looks shut down for good. This one star review is only given because if you have closed your business it would be nice to have if posts SOMEWHERE other than on the gate. "Due to circumstances beyond our control we regretfully wish to inform you that our business has closed." Posted on social media or on yelp would have been a courteous business practice.

We are visiting the area and wanted to try this place but it has closed. There is a sign on the gate. Looked like some good food!!! I am sure it will be missed.

Stopped in for a great Sunday lunch! The owner is wonderful, food was very tasty (goat cheese is local and yummy!!), and you have to say hello to Petunia the pig. We will definitely be back. Be sure you know they are only open fri, sat, sun. And BYOB!

Great place once you find it. We got lost and reception is spotty. If you're planning to go, remember to turn in the road by old tunnel state park. The restaurant has inside and outside seating. We went on a cold day and the inside seating was perfect. The owner had a little fire going to keep us warm. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the owner and one of the resident cats. They also have a big pig in the back that you can feed your leftovers too. We started with the corn balls. I wouldn't skip these for an appetizer. They were so good and come with a tasty dipping sauce. I think it was ranch. For my meal, I got the catfish sandwich. The sandwich was big with a lot of fish. The bread was nice and toasty. We shared a side of curly fries. It was definitely a big basket of fries. I couldn't finish the fish sandwich, so the little black cat ended up having a fish dinner. The rest of my left overs went to the pig. Would I return? Yes. Oh and it's BYOB

This is one amazing little place. The menu was surprisingly upscale. Delicious and surprising! Best pumpkin cheesecake I've ever had, we came back and bought some for Thanksgiving, which our guests were grateful for!

We LOVED IT! Off the beaten path but well worth it. The owner Edie was so friendly and funny! Customer service was awesome and the food was great!! This place will be a regular place to visit whenever we are in the Fredericksburg area.

On my visit, I had the fried cheese curds, curly fries, and cheddar cheese burger. All delicious and highly recommend! This spot is a hidden gem. The animals near the property are a cool treat to watch, and I love that they are dog friendly. Open on the weekends; BYOB.

Worth the drive, freshly homemade. We had the special, chicken fried steak, homemade mashed potatoes and gravy, with fresh green beans. If you want alcohol, bring your own. Quite a diverse menu, philly cheese steak, hamburgers, fish and shrimp. There is a veggie burger. It's a drive from Fredericksburg, but a scenic one. There is a porta pottie and outdoor area with picnic tables.

The first weekend in October-while in Fredericksburg for a long weekend with 12 longtime girlfriends-we ended up at The Black Pig-after attempting to go to another restaurant close by only to find they were closed for vacation. When we showed up at the Black Pig-we were kindly greeted by the owner/chef! We ordered a variety of items from the menu AND everything was delicious! We were informally entertained by the young man called in to help out-as our group of former military wives can be a "handful" ! We were all pleasantly surprised with our discovery of this gem of a spot to stop for lunch, dinner or whatever mealtime works for you! Loved the country setting, the outdoor seating and definitely loved the black pig-he was a cutie! Really there is a black pig!!!! Do yourself a favor and stop by the Black Pig when you get a chance!

Food trailer with building structure for eating. Nice place. Friendly folks. Dog friendly. Food is really good, I had the best BLT I've had in a long while. Also, was the only thing with pork lol 😄. Meant to get a burger at Alamo Springs but they were closed (due to family vacation ha!).
