The only thing warmer than the sake in this place is how you are greeted as soon as you walk in the door. The staff always makes you feel like they are genuinely glad you decided to dine with them today. I have always been seated promptly, my drink order taken and then the service only gets better and better from there. Very attentive but no one hovers. The staff makes sure you are taken care of BUT they give always make sure to let you enjoy your meal. The wait for your food is never long. And when it does come out, it never ceases to amaze me how, consistently, the food tastes SO fresh and so delicious, every time. My only regret every time I go is that I always wish I could order and eat more! This place wasted no time becoming our favorite sushi spot! Thank you so much, Masa, for giving us the best dining experience EVERY time we come in.

Ugh. I was so excited to have dinner here. Ive been dreaming of it, craving it. All my experiences in the past at masa have always been good, which is the only reason I gave 2 instead of 1 stars.
The food was absolutely abysmal. From taste, texture, and temperature. My sushi that came out after my dinner, was practically warm (its a cold roll), and my dinner was cold. The chicken was tough. My rice was overcooked and bland. My daughters steamed rice was undercooked. The veggies on the hibachi plate were disgusting. Im not picky. I tried to eat the food, but I just couldnt. My mom and daughter ate their chicken and some of the rice they almost broke a tooth on.
Service was okay. At times no where to be found, but for the most part we had what we needed. Also, what place doesn't serve wasabi and ginger with their rolls? Like what?
The sushi is better at HEB ten fold. Don't waste your money here. Until the owners or management can shapen this place back up.
Bathrooms were not the worst but gross enough. Clean the sinks.
The manager listened and was sympathetic enough. We weren't looking for any comps or anything, just wanted it to be known that our meal from start to finish was disgusting.
Im so sad as I sit here and eat bagel bites, because we spent money on food I couldnt even stomach.

Worst experience ever. We just left starters they do not beilve in AC to be in Texas summer heat. The waitress was pushy from the time she came up. Food was bland had no flavor, lack of seasoning well better put ot tasted like they never even added seasoning. The teriyaki sauce was runny and see through. It was not the normal thick flavorful sauce we usually get there. My California rolls tasted like they had been pre-made several days before. To top it off we left cash on the table to pay for our meal. Instead of going to the table and seeing if we paid the waitress chased us down in the parking lot and aquesed us of not paying. My husband said we left cash and tip on the table. Might want to check tables before accusing people. She then said oh no I didn't 🤦♀️ then tried to be all friendly. We will not be back from sitting in a warm restaurant, flavorless food, dried out California rolls, pushy rude waitress and then to end with being chased down. Nope your off our list. This was supposed to be a nice birthday lunch for me. It was horrible

I've been coming to Masa Sushi for years with my family, and it used to be one of our go-to spots. Unfortunately, the quality has been steadily declining, and after my recent visit on July 16th, I won’t be returning.
I hadn’t even made it to the main course before things went wrong. I ordered the calamari appetizer, and to my disgust, there was a roach swimming in the dipping sauce. It completely killed my appetite and was beyond unacceptable.
That said, I want to acknowledge that our server was amazing—very professional and genuinely apologetic about the situation. Their handling of the incident was appreciated.
While the service was excellent, the overall experience was disappointing and concerning. I can no longer recommend this location.

It didn’t feel like a language barrier — it felt more like he was mocking my accent or choosing not to understand me.
I understand that not everyone will have job openings, but there's a basic level of respect and professionalism that should be shown to anyone walking in. I left feeling disrespected and uncomfortable, and I truly hope this isn't how they treat all non-native English speakers.
Definitely not a welcoming environment.

I got a simple bowl of ramen with pork. There was less than a cup of broth, and a so much noodle, that it seemed like I was given ramen spaghetti. I requested more broth and they said $2 extra. I also had shrimp tempura and the shrimp was uncleaned.
Update: my partner went to this location and ate on his lunch break. He had the sushi, then he couldn’t stop using the restroom every hour for 24 hours. His stomach was swollen and he had pain. I don’t recommend eating at this location, for your safety.
