I had the misfortune of ordering from Chef Chen, which I initially thought was an authentic Chinese restaurant. I placed a takeout order through Uber Eats for Chicken Lo Mein, Chicken Spring Rolls, and Chicken Dumplings. Somehow, they managed to forget the dumplings altogether - even though there was only one other customer in the restaurant at the time.
As for the food quality:
The Chicken Spring Rolls were basically salty cabbage rolls soaked in oil.
The Chicken Lo Mein was completely inedible—overly greasy, excessively salty, and with an unpleasant oil smell.
Overall, this was a poor imitation of popular Chinese dishes. Only thing that felt Chinese is the name of the restaurant. Definitely not worth the money.

Totally disgusted with this place. I ordered online for delivery had to go to the store an hour later because they supposedly had Internet issues, 2 hrs later they finally responded to my online order, they never offered to refund the additional fees, delivery fee the tip and the additional service fee.

The food is mediocre at best. For the price you can go to Panda Express where it’s cheaper and honestly tastes better. Placed a to-go order online and they had no idea about it and had to take the order at the window - ended up only getting 2 spring rolls when I paid for 6. Overall pretty disappointing and desperately hoping I don’t get food poisoning from this.

The food was good, once they finally took my order. I honestly felt discriminated the whole time. He question my payment after looking at my receipt twice, and forgot the crab cheese wontons and tried to charge me again. I'm not going back and it's sad because we used to love this location.

Not worth spending any money here. It should be called Indian restaurant instead of Chinese restaurant.

Really like Chef Chen in Rowlett, but must not be the same ownership (same name and logo…weird). Not the same menu and food is different. Anyway judged on its own merits, this is still subpar Chinese food. Ordered the hunan beef lunch special….beef was rubbery and was a small portion of food.

Ordered through Uber eats so I will only rate food, but it was the worst Chinese food I've had in dallas.
given its Chinese food its not horrible but among Chinese food it was the worst. everything tasted stale and had the reused oil after taste.
I dont usually leave bad reviews but this time I had to.

The food was absolutely horrible! Hot & Sour soup was atrocious. The Chicken Lettuce Wrap was overly salty with absolutely no Chinese spice at all, no garlic or ginger either.
This place is a definite PASS!

We had a great experience with Irfan. Service was amazing and we felt really welcomed. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious. Would recommend the orange chicken and the lo mein. The mango cake was great as well.

This was the second time me and my bf have given this place a chance. 1st time we waited around for 10-15 minutes and no one came by to serve us at all. We could hear them in the back all talking instead and it wasn't busy, we were the only ones there. This second time my bf wasn't feeling well so we came to soup and some rice since soup isn't fulfilling and the owner or whoever was in charge thay day laughed at us and questioned our order choice. Will not be coming back ever again. He was so rude and didnt even ask what drinks we wanted.

I was driving and found this place on maps it seemed deserted when I got there. I went in no one was there around 3:30 pm the guy was slumped over at the counter wasn’t even greeted when I came in. He seemed like he didn’t want to be there. He didn’t ask if had any questions I asked if there was fried rice because I barely could see the paper menu I didn’t even ask for fried rice I just preferred it. When my order came it was brought in a brown bag stapled shut. I began to ask is there sauce before I could finish my sentence he interrupted and said sauce is in the bag. I’m thinking to myself you didn’t ask me what sauce I wanted smh. I just walked out like this rice better be good because I’m probably not coming back. It was my first time and I love to find good food. I got in my car and opened the bag only sauce was soy sauce and duck sauce I don’t even really like duck sauce I really wanted chilli sauce. I tasted the rice and I loved it but I was too bad customer service sucked. Not sure I will be going back.

The food was mediocre and the whole place seemed sketchy. Not very clean with boxes stacked all over the kitchen.
It’s not an authentic Chinese restaurant but rather some cheap variant.
The price was not justified for the taste. The food was ready under 5 minutes which is unheard of in any Chinese restaurant of good quality. The food was warm indicating most of the ingredients were pre cooked. The chilli oil was of bad quality it actually smelled of old oil. The dishes were all plastic with no sign of any porcelain or ceramics.
Overall I’ll not recommend and I have no idea how people have given positive reviews of this restaurant.
