The mandi was very satisfying, with generous portions, so make sure you go when you’re properly hungry. Quantity is definitely a highlight here.
There’s also a wide menu, offering plenty of options beyond biryani — including chicken and shrimp dishes, which makes it a good spot if you want to try different items on repeat visits.
Overall, great value for money with filling portions and variety.

I would never waste my money on this place again.. I have paid $72 for mandi and all I got is cold dry and tasteless rice and pieces. I have added juicy mutton, chicken and prawns. Prawns were far better but the chicken and mutton and the rice were worse. No taste just some bland old and cold food we paid for

I honestly don’t understand why people are so crazy about Desi District. To be frank, this is one of the worst food experiences I’ve had in the Dallas area.
Before writing this review, I genuinely gave it a fair chance — I tried multiple items including different biryanis and mandi. Unfortunately, none of them lived up to even basic expectations. The taste, quality, and consistency were all disappointing. I’ve had better food from small mobile food trucks around Dallas than what was served here.
There’s a famous Telugu dialogue that perfectly fits this situation:
“Once an item or place becomes popular, no one dares to say it’s bad — because people will look at them like fools.”
That’s exactly how this place feels. Everyone seems to know the food isn’t great, but no one openly says it, probably because of the hype and social media popularity.
The only things I found decent were the tea and snacks. Other than that, I would honestly not recommend trying main courses here, especially if you’re expecting authentic or flavorful desi food.
Popularity doesn’t always equal quality, and unfortunately, Desi District is a clear example of that.

Tried juicy mutton Mandi, afghani chicken Mandi and paneer mandi, all were good,
Service was not up to the mark.
I ordered from Desi District on a whim through Uber Eats. It was just ok. The veg samosa was good. The hakkah noodles were sub par. The flavor was lackluster and the veggies were cut sooo sloppy and inconsistent, it was hard to eat. The ras malai came in such a small cup, I thougut it was yogurt raita for the samosas!
Another note: I left the hakka noodles out overnight because it was cold and I forgot to put them in the fridge. They had a sour smell. This is obv my problem, but made me question how fresh they were in the first place because I have had hakkah noodles from other places left out for a night and they were just fine.

Worst experience again and again. Shame
On management not to follow up on how
Service is provided to customers. There are several other good options in Frisco. The take an order loiter for 10 mins come back and say they are out of the snack ordered. Joke on how they deal with people. This is the last to visit Desi District. Will tell few hundred friends around not to visit this store here after. By the way this is my FIRST ever review on google…and this did not go well…

Worst behavior with customers, they made everyone wait for 3 hours and said we couldn’t make few items in the order. They would have let us know while ordering itself.

Zero hygiene here. Dirty tables, unclean surroundings, and extremely filthy restrooms. This place seriously raises health concerns — if the dining area and bathrooms are this bad, I don’t even want to imagine the kitchen. Felt unsafe eating here. Not worth the risk. Avoid this place.

We had a team catch-up at this restaurant last week and ordered 1 family pack chicken biryani and 1 family pack goat biryani. The chicken biryani arrived half-filled with oil, with no chicken pieces, just gravy, oil, and rice on top. We showed this to the front desk, and the staff offered either a replacement or a refund. I requested a refund and paid separately for drinks.
It has now been 10 days, and despite calling twice, I have still not received the refund. Each time they promised it would be processed within 24 hours, but nothing has been done. Very disappointing experience
