First and last time in this place. We came to celebrate a birthday's friend and didn't know how does it work. So confusing for beginners Korean food. Server was rude and not positive attitude. I'll never get back again and don't recommend it!!!!!!! Actually didn't eat.

Food is great, drink menu solid.
A little overpriced? Most definitely.
Service has been solid but inconsistent, sometimes someone is very attentive and on it, sometimes we’re kind of just forgotten about. But I haven’t had any terrible experiences. I’d like to see the price come down a bit but, I guess this place is kind of the big name of Korean bbq in the area so, I mean hey if it works it works.
The menu can kind of be rather confusing as well maybe it can be trained into team members to explain the menu to new customers.
Barely felt full when I left and small options choice compared to other Shops.
Staff all dress them same color so hard to tell waiter from server.

It was my and my husband's first time trying KBBQ, and the experience overall was pretty great. All of the food we had was excellent, and it was a fun sitting around chatting while our food cooked to our liking. There was a lot of variety for us to choose from with the dinner menu (we went for weekend lunch), so we got to try all sorts of things.
The staff was excellent. Friendly and attentive. They made sure we had plenty of food at all times.
Downsides were minor things. The radish for cleaning the grill was pointless. It did nothing. They didnt seem fully prepared for a busy lunch either. We were there around noon, and some things were either gone or just not prepared? The restaurant was maybe only had around 5 other parties at the time, so not getting more of the ssamjang or radish sheets when requested was a bit sad. My biggest gripe was the QR code menu. I dont want to use my phone as a menu. Give me an actual menu to look at.
All in all though, it was a great experience, and we'll definitely go back in the future with other friends.

Our waitress seemed like a nice girl, however the service was below subpar. We spent more time waiting than eating. I understand there will be a wait when the restaurant is packed for dinner, but when we have to sit over 40 minutes waiting on 2 orders of galbi it becomes hard to excuse. When we managed to catch our waitress’ attention after watching her seemingly ignore our table several times, we asked for the status of our order and she seemed to not remember what we were talking about. She then brought out one order of warm meat that had been sitting in the back for who knows how long. We decided to just ask for the bill and leave hungry. 3 hours and $200 later we left extremely satisfied.

I love this restaurant before but since they changed their grill plate to this horrible teflon coated one, Im done. Will go to a different K- bbq and won’t be back until they change it back to a stainless steel plate. It’s screaming carcinogen (cancer) . Im sorry. Just a deal breaker for me.

My recent visit to Gen Korean BBQ was nothing short of unforgettable, and a major reason for that was our server, Nic. I’ve eaten at plenty of places, but I don’t think I’ve ever encountered a server who operated with the level of skill, attention, and almost mythic presence that Nic brought to the table.
From the moment we sat down, Nic seemed to know exactly what we needed—sometimes even before we did. Drinks appeared right as they reached the halfway point. Plates vanished and reappeared like magic. Every meat recommendation was so perfect it felt like he’d personally raised the animals and auditioned every cut before it reached our grill.
Nic didn’t just check on us. He materialized. Like a benevolent, BBQ-focused guardian spirit. One moment he was teaching us the perfect grill timing with the intensity of a Michelin-star mentor, and the next he was making sure we had fresh banchan with the grace of someone refilling the chalices of honored guests.
He struck the perfect balance of friendly and professional—never intrusive, but somehow always there the exact second we needed something. I’m not saying he controls time… I’m just saying I wouldn’t be surprised if he does.
And the food? Incredible. Fresh, flavorful, and endless. The restaurant atmosphere was lively, clean, and fun. But Nic elevated the entire experience from a great dinner to a genuinely special evening.
If you go to Gen Korean BBQ, you’re already set for a good time—but if you’re lucky enough to get Nic as your server?
You’re in for something legendary.

Our family of 3 came on a Saturday night for dinner. The wait wasn't too long. The variety of meats was good and the food was delicious. The service was stellar. The atmosphere was pleasant with soft blueish lighting.

My visit to Gen BBQ restaurant was extremely disappointing.
The grill plate we were given was in terrible condition — the coating was peeling, damaged, and clearly unsafe for cooking.
I raised the issue, and the manager directly told us that the grill plates are coated with Teflon. I was shocked to see they use the chipped Teflon plate for BBQ.
This is alarming because:
Teflon is NOT safe for use over charcoal or high heat.
It starts to break down above 260°C, and charcoal heat goes far beyond that.
This is a basic food safety issue, not a minor oversight.
We requested to switch back to a stainless-steel grill plate, and they initially refused, but after we insisted, they replaced it. But what shocked me even more was this:
Every other table in the restaurant was still using the same chipped Teflon-coated grill plates.
So this is not an isolated case — the entire restaurant is serving customers with equipment that is unsafe for high-heat cooking.
This is irresponsible and shows a complete disregard for customer safety.
I will not return until the restaurant replaces all unsafe grill plates, and I will be warning others to stay away in the meantime.

Restaurantji Recommends
One of the worst Korean BBQ experiences I’ve ever had.
The restaurant doesn’t change the grill pan and told us to “wipe it with radish”???. That is completely unacceptable for any restaurant, how radish can clean the burned stuff?? The meat burned, tasted awful, and the whole meal was ruined.
To make things worse, several dishes we ordered were not served.
This place has terrible food. Definitely not coming back and would not recommend to anyone.

None of them is good nor bad. They are just so so. If you think the quantity is more important than quality then yo can go. Otherwise, I don't recommend.

Went on slow Thursday evening. Appetizers never came. I asked twice in 50-55 min. Asked for Manager. She never came over. Finally arrived on 3rd request. Had to ask several times for items like napkins, sauces, meat. Not sure how this place went so down hill. Was amazing first few times 😪

We came in today around 6:50 PM and the hostess didn’t even acknowledge us. We stood there for several minutes while she stood there laughing and chatting with her friend like we were invisible. Maybe check the cameras if you don’t believe it — it happened right at the front. No wonder the place was half empty. If that’s the kind of “welcome” guests get, I can see why.

Waited at the host stand for 10 minutes and was never greeted by the staff. There was no line and no reason to be ignored. Walked out hungry and dissapointed.
