Decided to give them another try, service still had not improved. We stood at the front waiting over 10 min. Along with other customers for someone to come greet us while the staff is laughing and joking around in the kitchen. Same problem with the staff laughing and carrying on in the kitchen while we sit with empty drinks!! When did customer service go so down hill in this industry, terrible

I've been in the industry all my life. I even worked for the company that now owns IHop many many years ago. My family and I typically stay away from these old casual chains now-a-days though. Sadly, they've really gone down hill over the past 15-20 years (this is likely how long it's been since I've dined at IHop also) and there are just so many better options to choose from. However, I saw recently, an industry article that talked about IHop and Applebee's (same ownership) that seemed like these brands were coming out of the hole. I'm sad to tell you that this is not the case.My family decided to give this IHop a try on a Monday morning after a trip to the courthouse in McKinney for a friends adoption. Some schools were off the day after Easter but not all so I figured it would be fairly slow, which it was. The minute we walked in, again being in the industry, I knew we should have just turned around and went somewhere else. They weren't busy, but there were several dirty tables. ALWAYS a red flag to me. We decided to give them the benefit of the doubt since we were already here but it only got worse.The food was fine but took 35 minutes... I'm sure you all know how long 35 minutes actually feels to a hungry family of four. Service on the other hand was terrible. Perhaps she was just having a bad day or perhaps she just hates her job. Regardless, as a tipped employee, you've gotta give the effort or appearance you care at least. She did neither. We had to follow up to get our drinks. She never came and said "really sorry about the food delay. It'll be just a bit longer" we were left guessing. She dropped off our food and never saw her again until I waived her down for the check. Absolutely terrible.I understand how hard it is to find good employees these days. But keeping substandard ones to "fill gaps" is so detrimental to your success. Sad to see this brand continue to suffer. Maybe I'll see you all again in another 15 years to see if you've figured it out. With so many great options, I hope you guys make it that long.

Tried this place several times but really.. I'd rather not come back. Tonight there were 3 tables with customers when we walked in. No one was at the front and it took a bit to get seated. Order was taken promptly, and drinks arrived pretty quickly. I order the breakfast crepe, who h I have had before. I love the sauce that it has in it, which is why I order it. Tonight I got my food and as soon as I took my 2nd bite I noticed the sauce was missing. I asked for the sauce and the young man tells me they are out. Well, that would have been nice to know before I order! When you are missing a key ingredient, you TELL CUSTOMERS that you don't have it. Now I'm stuck paying for something I don't want! I would have ordered something else if the woman taking my order had said something.I'm really not sure how this location is still open.Severely understaffed among other issues.

2021-Sucks to be served by people who have no idea how to do simple task like loading a gift card. Store manager should train his team better if he wants a day off2024-Tried the place again, no change. 1 server for 8 tables, 5 unbussed tables. Ended up leaving before being greeted to be seated when 25 minutes had already passed just standing at front waiting.

Ihop isn’t the same anymore.Food Business is considered a service business. It includes good food , good service with respect and good environment so people can get a break from every day life and get good food with convenience in exchange for the money and I did not get any of that. Server had a bad attitude with everyone and we asked for custom omelette paid extra for that and did not get that. We waited 40 minutes just to get the wrong order and then they took our order back to make the corrections. We waited 15 more minutes and get the same mistakes With a bad attitude on the side. Disappointment from stepping in to stepping out.

This place is awful. I am posting review after giving this place many chances. They never improve and never gets better, but getting worse and worse. Every time they cancel some of ingredient of the food, specifically mushroom and spinach. So if you order the meal that supposed to have mushroom or spinach don’t expect to see them in your food. That is so unfair to pay the food with 3 ingredients but the only put 1 ingredient and overwhelmed it with that. Who wana eat the benefit or sandwich with thousands of cherry mushy tomato and messy style.This happened many times to us. Instead they overwhelmed my meal with onion or cherry tomatoes, I mean OVERLOADED with tomatoes. They are always short stf and have curbside board in the parking as decoration but not really having curbside.they do not put the food and sauce tops tight enough so it splitting all over the bags and mess everything. 0 score to this place.

The experience that never happened. This place always disappoints and the staff and management all need an overhaul. After over 10 minutes standing upfront to be seated and any employees who walked by avoided eye contact and I asked the employee that was sitting down folding silverware if they could assist and was informed that is not their job. I asked if anyone was available and they told me to go look in the kitchen for someone to help!!! I preceded to walk in the kitchen which is a health violation and finally found someone who said they were the only server. Horrible service! I came to the other one in Frisco off Dallas Pkwy and immediately was greeted even though there was only one waitress yet she managed to be present and provide SERVICE! What is the difference? Accountability and strong work ethic plain and simple!

Service was great and so was the food. Ask for BLAKE, he was great not just with me but with everyone around where I could see. He was extremely attentive to everyone around and was cleaning tables in between customers (actually only saw him cleaning). The lady at the front desk was also nice and was helping customers as well. Not sure who the cook(s) were tonight but I didn’t have to ask “if I could get my pancakes cooked inside this time.” I’ll definitely will return and will ask for Blake. Thanks Blake for your service and advice, I really don’t believe you’ve been a waiter for a month they should have you train the employees there.Kid-friendliness: Definitely kid-friendly EXCEPT people need to train their kids BEFORE taking them out to eat.
