Waited 48 minutes for a To-Go order with only one couple dining in and 4 people at the bar. I received burnt fish cooked in old oil and a rotten piece of corn for $24 + tax..( should be catfish fillets but received nuggets) I also ordered Cajun fries but received regular..they did go back to add the Cajun seasoning after bringing it to their attention. Total ticket. $69.08, we never received our tacos which we were going to eat while waiting on our order. We finally received our order of crawfish 15 minutes after receiving this horrible inedible food. The girls working were standing around talking … and had no sense of urgency to tend to the customers. We visited this location as well as the old location in Frisco numerous times but this was by far the worst service.! I don’t think we will ever go back .

Ordered the fried pepper jack cheese, catfish and red beans combo, and the po'boy with fried gator and fries. I have never had pepper jack cheese sticks. They were made well, I just didn't like it. The red beans were very good. The catfish was a bit spicy. Unfortunately, it was mushy and tasted off. The po'boy was bland. The remoulade was not to my liking. I forgot to specify that I wanted mayo, but the waiter didn't ask either. I ended up eating the gator by itself. The gator needs seasoning badly. It was a bit rubbery, too. The fries are breaded. I do not like breaded fries. Usally I can eat them, but I just couldn't this time. The restaurant/bar is very big. Most of the seating is bar top tables with a few low tops near the stage. The place was clean. There's pool tables and games in the back. The patio is a nice size with a bar as well. Our waiter was very nice. The service was slow. It place was very empty. Maybe because it was around 5pm, but no one looked like they wanted to be there. I know that taste is subjective, but preparation is not. Maybe it was an off day.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Older lady at the host stand was so rude to me and my toddler for no reason, saying that he needs headphones to be enter or sit on the patio (which was perfectly fine as I had them in my car, just didn’t realize that beforehand since it wasn’t even 6pm yet). I asked if there’s A/C or fans going in the patio, and I must’ve been an idiot to ask that question because the response was so ridiculous. Without my reaction, she gives me the most ridiculous attitude saying this is how things here always are, and how it’s always been, while rolling her eyes and shaking her head. I then called the friends who were meeting me here and we chose somewhere else to eat dinner.

i tried to order over the phone just for them to say i have to get there first to be able to order crawfish, i ordered 3 pounds and they were mushy …. the worst crawfish i had and im very upset since i was craving them so bad. decided to give them a chance and it’s never going back i honestly so disappointed update: i threw up and have stomach aches and my husband got diarrhea from just trying to eat 3 …

Super awesome crawfish, the cook really hooked me up with some serious spice and the potatoes ended up killing me! It was amazing. School of Rock was on live and they were pretty talented too so it was a great time

I loved the original Mudbugs. Too bad they are gone! If your expecting Mudbugs don't waste your time just turn around and high tail it out of there. This thing at the Revel is meh. It was very disappointing. We ordered the 3lb crawfish boil. Not spicy at all. At least the size of the crawfish was decent. The add ons like the sausage are expensive and did not compliment the crawfish at all. Also got the sweet chili Thai shrimp. Came out cold but the waitress did remake along with the fries. Everything took forever to get to the table and from what I could see the place wasn't busy at all for a Sunday night. They also charge cc fee, I thought that was a no no🙄

We love the food here. We made a drive up to Frisco to dine here a 2nd time. We arrived about 5:45 on a Sunday evening and there was a live band. We walked in and it would have been 100% impossible to enjoy a meal without screaming at my wife, the hostess and our server. We left immediately. Who has a live band in the dining area at dinner time on Sunday? I’ll tell ya it’s Mudbugs.
I sent an email expressing our disappointment but the owner has not found time to reply.

If you're thinking that this Frisco location is in any way comparable to the Little Elm location (that recently closed)... think again. If it is the same team, then the recipes must have fallen out of the truck as they moved from Little Elm to this site in Frisco.
The Gumbo was a watery / greasy mess, and the Red Beans and Rice was nothing to write home about. Neither had any sense of seasoning or spice that one would expect for good creole dishes. The same overcooked sausage slices were obviously used in each dish.
Very very average... at best.

Kind of subpar service, crawfish wasn’t purged well and was kind of muddy tasting. Typical bar full of regulars that act like they own the place and the servers focus only on regulars. Not impressive.
My grand daughter and I just got back from eating lunch at a new restaurant to us with the strange name of Mud Bugs. We had a crab cake in corn and onion savory sauce. What a treat for our taste buds ! For lunch we both ate shrimp tacos with both grilled and blackened shrimp. They came with a special sauce. The tacos were so delicious that I am sure I will dream about them. We accompanied the lunch with a side of onion rings. They were served quite hot and flavorful. From now on Mud Bugs will be my favorite restaurant. I feel confident that if you try it, you’ll love it. ❤️❤️

4/29 review update : i miss mud bugs being in the old location (mainly bc it was closer) and of the probably 20 times I ate there they never messed up my order. Today 4/29 around noon I called and ordered crawfish meat pies and cup of gumbo with beignets to go. I received cup of red beans and beef meat pies with beignets and didn't realize until I was home and sat down to eat. A bit frustrating bc I don't eat red beans and I looked forward to gumbo the most!
Still giving 4 stars bc the beef meat pies were good and so were the beignets. The service was also fine for picking up.

What a horrible mistake to move in with the Revel patio and grill. First of all the messages when you call to make an order are way too long. I’ve gotten hung up twice trying to place an order to go. This is the third time I’ve tried it since y’all moved And the experience has been horrible each time! I was one of the first customers when you opened on 423 I was there when they delivered your sign of the date that you were established. It’s too bad such a good local Cajun business is going to disappear. I used to spend between four and $5000 a year with this business. I will never dine with them again!

Boil was overcooked and over seasoned. No sauce for the boil just dry powdered seasoning. Regular boil is super spicy. Oysters were okay. One oyster had a ton of sand.
While in the middle of the eating, we were asked to close our tab while our hands were full of crawfish and there were still food on the plate. Even with the restaurant not being that busy, we felt rushed to order, eat, and leave. Not sure if the boil was intentionally made poorly to try to get us to leave ASAP or what, but this was disappointing.

We love mudbugs! The food is amazing and has so much flavor. We miss them at their old location that was closer to us, but that won’t keep us away! Our entire family just loves the food - we also love that the owner has always come to talk to us and make us feel welcomed. Took that whole family there yesterday to eat and everyone cleaned their plates - which is a rare occurrence for us! Keep up the good work you guys! We will be back soon!
