Mary was so friendly! I ordered a beer, a whiskey, and a meal, all for just over $20. The prices can't be beat. Not to mention that I live and work less than 2 kilometers away, I think I'll be here a lot more often!
The toffee cake reminded me of Alconbury and the surrounding area although much smaller and less toffee than is served there just as delicious. The Shepard's Pie was also delicious... highly recommend
We were nearby watching volleyball games and needed to find a more or less quick meal. We tried the British Lion and we enjoyed it! I had the steak and ale pie and it was amazing, with the rich, flavorful gravy, tender meat, veggies, and puff pastry on top. The shepherd's pie and fish and chips also looked good.
