Cozy pub.
The not so good stuff: Genuinely not great service. Slow, unsure of the menu, not very attentive. They said they “didn’t have topo’s and didn’t have any bottled water except a $12 bottle of sparkling” that was actually San Pellegrino and was hot and served in a plastic pitcher where ice didn’t fit with it. That was pretty stupid and when we pointed out that it was HOT the server said “yeah, it’s because of where it’s kept” 🤦🏻♀️
The good stuff: I would stick to the fish and chips. That was AMAZING!!
The wings are okay. The fish chowder is just way too oily and when we mentioned that to the server she said “oh” and nothing more was said or done or explained.
Salads are meh at best and the sandwiches are just “ok”
The fish and chips are AWESOME I will literally come back for that and just get nothing else lol maybe eat at the bar this time if not with a group.
There were 9 of us. We made reservations and there were plenty of empty tables. Can’t blame the bad service on being busy. There were two waitresses. One followed around so someone was training. They didn’t introduce themselves so would be able to tell you who was training who but one didn’t do a good job and the other one followed her around silently.

My mother and I were looking for some fish and chips …. Quickly google search led us here ….
Let me say the fish chowder and the fish & chips were phenomenal. Great consistency in the chowder and the fish was not covered in a thick cake batter- it was nice and crispy with excellent quality fish.
Will be here again for sure!

BE CAREFUL!!! Absolutely criminal. They dont take cash and I have found it is for a good reason... because they take liberties with you card info.... less than a $50 transaction and somehow it hit my bank for over $107.18..... Absolutely criminal and they know it. The male bartender was smug and I knew to keep my receipt... dont trust this place at all..
Yes im sure this is the right place. I have left messages all day!!! Straight to voicemal. Came in Tuesday night derby fries with steak. 1 vodka sprite, 1 beer. Pull the badge and it shouldn't be hard to find... my number is all over your voicemail.
Edited to show they refunded my tip without communication... they admitted they were wrong but weren't man enough to say it...
Great service, drinks, atmosphere! Dre was a great bartender!

The sandwiches are good, but they are a bit overpriced — $19 for a sandwich. One of the sandwiches came with fries, but the box was bigger than the actual portion inside. The fries that came with the Guinness Mushroom and Steak Sandwich were actually better than the sandwich itself. However, the King’s Club Sandwich was much better.
The service was disappointing. The staff attended us with a bad attitude; the man helping us seemed annoyed. I went with my mom and my dog since we live nearby in Frisco Square. We walked because there was snow and we didn’t want to drive. It was the only place open, and we had been wanting to try it for a while, so we decided to give it a chance. The sign outside clearly states that only service dogs are allowed, and if we decided to go in, it’s because our dog is one. The man (who I assume is the owner or manager) repeated that only service dogs were allowed. It’s worth noting that my dog has a stroller that we usually use when entering restaurants, but since it was snowing and we were walking, I obviously wasn’t going to bring it with me. We also decided to go in after we were already there. In the end, we ordered to go because we didn’t like the attitude we were treated with.
I’m giving this place two stars only because we liked the sandwiches and the fries.

Neat little pub. Grab a small bite to eat and enjoyed the fried cheese and Scottish eggs. They also have a full bar and I partook in the Dublin drop shots (Irish carbomb) which were only $3 a shot.
We stumbled across The Derbyshire randomly and it quickly became a favorite of ours. The atmosphere is so fun, and the food is incredible. We came another time not knowing a soccer game was about to start, so things were a little chaotic, but that was totally on us. Overall, highly recommend!

Some of the food is very good. Some is marginal. I ordered a burger with no seasoning and it came with a chemical laden sauce that hurt for 3 days. Pint of beer is way too expensive. Make sure you communicate well when ordering.

For the past year or so, Derbyshire has been a steady replacement to longer drives to pubs in Dallas/Addison. The food was always good, and every bartender has been always been hospitable. It's not the best place to watch the game, but I'll sacrifice atmosphere for convenience. The food and service are typically a 4 while the atmosphere is typically a 3.
If you have good company, the Derbyshire's food and drink menu will typically compliment the event and/or meal. The fish and chips are a must, and my friends always insist on extra servings of mashed peas. Although they no longer serve London Pride, they can still make a mean black & tan.
***Update - The original review here was based on a one-time visit among a handful of other visits, and after an apology from the owner, I've decided to update the review to represent the handful of other times I've visited The Derby. I do hope to find a Chelsea game to see sometime in the future, and I hope that both the owners and any potential viewers don't hold my team allegiance against me.
